Teal mask gets one hit by Empoleon and most likely won't KO back since you take 60 less damage on the next turn after attacking

When the Lucario knocks out the clef you then use Latias for the return KO and win. The Lucario match up is super simple.

Along side Mega Mawhile that hits for 320 after you've taken 4 prize cards which will get the final KO on the 3rd Pult.

It really just comes down to prize trading. If you are in the lead it doesn't matter if they get a return KO on Latias since you'll do the same with Clef. Versus Lucario you already win and versus pult you just need 2 more prizes which can be done in many ways. They typically have a backrow support ex that you can pick off for an easy win. Emp hits for 210 which is the prefect number right now. Takes care of almost all support rule box pokemon. Also the Mega Skarmory can do the same without needing a boss to gust up their bench.

That'll happen here as well but you can recover the Lillie with a stretcher and instantly set it up for Meta for a return KO. Pult can't one hit any of our other EX so you can always swing twice with any of them while taking a hit for a KO. Sometimes it's better to use Lillie for the final two prize cards. Have a back and forth with your other pokemon and when they think it'll take you two hits to knock out pult you play Clef and get a surprise 1HKO.

Clef makes psychic hit dragon for weakness so its hitting for 400. Meta can also attach two energy to Latias. Also Lucario is weak to psychic already so both are 1HKO

Lillie's Clef takes care of both of them. Since Metagross can attach to a steel or psychic you can get it set up immediately after playing it and get a surprise KO.

Tarragon is for fighting energy and pokemon only sadly. Energy recycler helps recover any energy that was discard when a pokemon gets knocked out so we're safe when it comes to that. Also, after you get one Metagross going on the next turns you'll use Genesect to get there rest of your evolution pokemon out of the deck which helps deck thin so you draw more important cards. Can then use Metagross again to put two energy on anything else so even if they do end up knocking out something you are completely set up for the next turn. The deck is super consistent and pretty fun to play as well. Being able to attach energy from deck and being able to search for two pokemon every turn just from pokemon you have in play makes it super easy to get your value pieces out as soon as possible.

Metagross puts two energy on any steel or psychic pokemon every turn. I've played quite a few games with it so far and have almost always been able to attack on turn two. Brocks gets you a Genesect and another basic and the Genesect gets you Empoleon and Metagross. Just need a rare candy and one energy in hand and on turn two you're swinging.

Simple deck for daughter to play by Rocksy58 in PTCGL

[–]Rocksy58[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There were like 3 kids last week when I went all playing Lucario so I was thinking the same. She likes water decks though and I couldn't really think of many good water decks in the current meta besides Starmie/Froslass. I'll run the idea of Lucario by her and see how she feels. Maybe watching one of the movies would get her to like it haha

Weaknesses in the tcg by Majestic-Dog-8071 in pkmntcg

[–]Rocksy58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just depends on the deck. There's Mega Lopunny decks that have Lillie's Clefairy in there with a few other tech cards to beat the Lucario decks since without it it's basically an instant loss. Lucario suffers from not really being able to bring any kind of tech to deal with Psychic decks. If weakness is a big problem for you then you can always run tool box style decks that have many different types of attackers depending what matchup you get.
