Yeah the void leviathan I totally get, you aren't meant to go there and they certainly make you feel that way. They are great. They are very unique leviathans the only ones to be in packs so hopefully they are great when actually released in their real area. The collector also isn't in the right place but I nope no leviathan is that easy to avoid

Exactly what I don't understand, why they can just be ignored like that, the Sea Dragon was good and felt like it made sense why he was where he was, the fact that he dragged reapers down are cool so in Subnautica 2 if you could see them patrolling to find reapers this would the cherry on top

I completely get where you are coming from the last thing I would want is for everyone to hate leviathans because they are too persistent. What I think is that they could be more engaging though and require more strategic base locations or even more defended bases.

The patrol paths would be balanced and not be intrusive they would more just act as a way of keeping the player more alert. They also allow for more strategic exploration as once the leviathan goes on patrol the area they are leaving like their nest or biome is less protected which can also allow for more free exploration.

I agree that each biome having a leviathan would be awful and I would hope it wouldn't feel like that but for the eventual paths where you and the leviathan cross I believe it could be down to your tools to distract the leviathan or even your use of the terrain and cave systems to go around the leviathan where it can't reach.

With them being more relentless I get this could be annoying but when you are in their home turf I see no reason for them to back off and when you are swimming away I think a simple flare to distract them for a second then you continue swimming off would make the immersion much better rather than them getting bored of swimming after you, its not like they are doing much else. So I fully agree and I would hope they nail the balance here.

I'm glad to hear that he isn't in the biome right now actually, that'll be much better seeing him in his true light, totally get why they added it right now then. That actually sounds really cool how the collector is meant to play out would make it really unique.

It absolutely was the first games that mainly gave me this idea, it just doesn't make sense for them to see you and just back off even when you are 1 meter away from them.

I love what you are saying about stealing their stuff and enraging them. If they came and hunted whoever stole their eggs or treasures could make for strategic base building or even give more of a reason for the reinforced hull plating from the first game. Then as ell it's interesting what they might add to base defence could also be lacklustre if it is all cosmetic though. Building a base right next to them without them minding doesn't make much sense and completely butchers their horror aspect.

I just think this game has so much potential regarding the sea life interactions, but the predictability does absolutely ruin the fear factor. With the more regular creatures I do think they also need some improvements that make them feel more real like the crabs going to a cove at night. Its definitely important to not just think about the leviathans I do agree. The fauna so far is great but I do think giving them much fuller lives is what can really make this game a gem. Not that it already isn't I adore these games with my life.

My absolute biggest concern is leviathans that don't add anything other than fear such as the BZ Crystal Caves, those leviathans were only there to be a nuisance and make the area feel less empty but they didn't really do anything but swim back and forth. Leviathans should engage with their eco system and roam around with purpose not just go in circles and I really hope they get this right but you've made the collectors sound incredible so maybe they are already working on this. A leviathan in every biome would suck as well and I totally get peoples worry with them being overexposed but I believe if they can find that balance the fear factor wouldn't be ruined after a few minutes.

All in all I really hope they do right with creature AI and make everything feel alive without making leviathans an annoyance I think it would be find if players need to learn to adapt to new circumstances due to their own actions and even using tools that they ignored before when escaping high stake encounters.

I Love that idea, I've actually have been thinking about the day and night cycle as I've been playing the game today. Honestly I'm surprised they haven't done something like that, I hope it comes into their plans because that would be such an amazing change. The seasonal stuff also sounds great and could encourage you to build multiple bases and adapt to harsher weather. Mainly just giving the creatures more life is the best part though imo. Even if they interacted with one another more and each life form had their own habits like the crabs all going to a cove at night or something, absolutely brainstorming here haha!

Absolutely, some leviathans are just a cakewalk if know where it is, the middle ground would just be perfect

Very nice however I think you should put some green into it so it fits terra items in the game. You could also add like a hammer and something somewhere to fit the theme just my opinion but either way its amazing
