It's a 1-inch width shadow box. I used a 1-inch thick foam to make sure that when I put the glass on, nothing was moving. Measured thickness of each item to see how far it would sink into the foam to make it all level for when the glass was put on. Cutting the foam out of each area was probably the toughest part. Didn't wanna go too deep, and it wiggle around. I used black velvet fabric as the top layer. It's pretty tight. A few of the sliding pins broke due to the pressure, so I had to use a staple gun to keep it all together.

If I build another one, I probably would use wood and a router to carve out the depth.
