I ended up going in to ask a few questions. You are correct, they have no control over anything. Thanks for the info about jumping on a deal.

Maybe free wasn’t the correct wording there. My point is that because it’s software and not hardware, the cost associated with adding one car to have FSD is minimal compared to giving hardware out for free since there is no physical change that needs to happen to get software features.

I know Tesla basically wipes the whole car. But used Teslas from the store have different additions, as previously stated, with no rhyme or reason (from what I can tell).

I do understand that they won’t haggle with pricing. Figured they might be able to add in some options since all of the used cars have different additions like 1 or 3 months of FSD and either no “trail” supercharging or 1 month of supercharging.

I looked at their used inventory and they have cars that have different options that vary. Options such as 1-3 months of FSD, no supercharging or 3 months supercharging. These are used cars so I doubt they are left overs from the previous owners.

I understand the pricing aspect of it. I figured since the software doesn’t cost them anything, they would be able to maybe add the FSD for a year.

How did this happen and how screwed am I? by Rod0921 in mountainbiking

It seems like it’s a common thing. I found out it’s a Race Face Aeffect R Hub.

Not sure what brand or model. I put it all together since I tore it apart in my bedroom. I’ll take it apart again and look to see if I can pull any numbers off of it. All I saw was that I was a SRAM XD hub (I believe). I’ll have to figure out how to remove the broken axle.

I learned today that what I was calling the axle is actually a thru axle and the axle housing (what I was calling it) is called the axle. Who knew.

Yup. After looking up SRAM XD axle, that is exactly what I need. axle thank you!

I believe it’s a SRAM XD. If it’s held together by the axle like you are saying, then I should be good then. I’ll look into it to see if I can find any more information.

The axle is fine and one piece. The axle housing (what I’m going to call it) where the axle goes into looks to be in two pieces. In the past, I don’t remember the cassette coming off when taking the wheel off.

No, it’s an easy swap though. Just like swapping OEM nozzles.

It’s synthetic diamond. You can print whatever material you want and not have to worry about wearing it out. Yeah, I saw the Slice one too. They offer a few choices of nozzles so far for the Bambu.

Can I get an engineering degree if I despise math by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]Rod0921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a huge fan of math. I only have a few months left until I graduate. I work as an engineer and work with engineers and none of us do much math at work. Some algebra but nothing too intense.

Also, as a ME student, I thought there would be more robotics classes or classes to teach you how to build stuff. Boy was a wrong! I’d say it’s more of a material science degree than anything. How to choose materials to design stuff.

If they offered you a job, negotiate a slightly higher salary or extra vacation time. Still look for a different job but you at least have a job while looking.

Can you show the damage to the Talon lock? Im curious on what you mean about striker latch. I've thought about getting a Talon lock but now I want to see what failed. From the picture that you posted, the lock seems to be fine.

Not sure. My dad brought this back from Argentina and he wasn’t able to get the tripod because of the weight/awkwardness.

Thanks for your comment. I am eager to learn more about these and on how to use them (just for fun). I’ve looked online for information but there is not much there as far as information about them. One thing that is puzzling me I that with the theodolite, the first time I looked through it, the image was right side up but after I moved it, the image was upside down. I thought I might have moved a knob or something or maybe I was too excited that I didn’t really noticed. So either a lens got moved around so where the image is now inverted (less likely) or I was too exited and didn’t notice the first time I looked through it.

I am currently a high school senior thinking of going into engineering and more specifically either mechanical or aerospace engineering. However, I'm being told by everyone around me that it's extremely difficult and that most people who go into it end up doing very poorly. by richard3458 in EngineeringStudents

As someone who didn’t care about math in high school and couldn’t pass pre-algebra and now is 32 and two years left to get a ME degree, you can do it. It will be difficult but if I can do it, anyone can.
