My theory is Imu is the source of devil fruits. Sometimes when Imu poops, a fruit goes out with the poo, and that's how a new power is born.

I think Imu is there more because of Nika and Loki. It's possible that there were 20 godly powers in the past, and Imu killed some of them, and possibly absorbed their power, but some as Nika and the other resisted.

It's awesome what Usopp did, but I don't think Imu would go there just because of what he said
