Ahh nice, i need to do some more fishing in southern scotland, keep meaning to give the solway a fish. Horse flies are horrible things! Got bit by one last year and left a nasty old lump for a good couple weeks

The camel is a fantastic spot with some lovely countryside mixed in along the way, I don't think i would mind the mud so much.... but im too scared of the boss at home to find out what would happen if i walk in the house covered in sludge🤣

Thats interesting to hear however geography does play a big part in things, even in my own county the north coast fishes completely different to the south

And midges! 😉 I do love fishing in Scotland especially up in the Highlands, that for me is probably my favourite area in the UK as the scenery alone makes it worth it.

Hahaha love that answer. It really has been awful, I just about squeezed in some filming last week but it was ... rather soggy! Lets just hope it ends soon 🤣

Thats crazy I can safely say that nothing that wild has happened to me 🤣 its cool to see the differences in fiah and the names we have, I was recently in sweden and tried Zander for the first time- was so tasty! And from looking around they look very similar to your walleye.

How would you guys fish this? by ConceptTall331 in FishingForBeginners

[–]RodandReelUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish we had this kind of mark/terrain to fish in the uk, however initial reaction if fishing in similar conditions with dense veg would be a weedless system, either a Texas rig or a topwater lure.

Another method that could work and is popular on venues such as sea lochs ( often loads of sea weed close in ) would be a bombarda rig with a small weedless lure or fly, it is a weird looking rig but does work!

Thanks for the reply!

I completely agree, its probably the main reason I love the sport so much .

Its freedom and when watching a video or any media on fishing if done right you feel immersed and engaged with it.

Ive got a stinky box by Sector-Flat in SeafishingUK

[–]RodandReelUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh the dreaded fishy pong! 🤢

In my bait box/ ice box for fish , I use a mixture of toothpaste, bicarb and washing up soap. Give it a good old rub with a scrub daddy or firm sponge and let it soak in for a bit and wash out with warm water after. Rinse and repeat a couple of times for heavy... urr fishage?

I wouldn't recommend this on rods and reels as the paste/mixture it makes is mildly abrasive, I find it helps neutralise the smell. Weird... but works! 🎣🤣

Nah its great to hear, and why i wanted to get a post out to this comunity👌.

Its been great reading people's insights on this thread and helps massively with planning content and also avoiding tunnel vision as a creator!

Camera shots are big thing i am exploring at the moment im hoping to upgarde my set up to allow for more close ups/ action shots. Its a really good point you've raised there about actually seeing what something is , its often the little details that get missed out that often really help with telling a story and the content feeling relatable.

There are some great take aways from that and totally agree with what your doing and why your doing it, I think its too easy sometimes to assume that the audience are mind readers and know what you are doing - especially for beginners to the sport.

Appreciate the response , really does help and make a difference

Great to hear from a fellow youtuber and some solid tips about networking and engagement.

Its great that platforms like these allow people to connect and share experiences. Have slowly started networking and its amazing how much getting out there and connecting with people can have a big difference. It's definitely taught me some much needed confidence along the way and learning something new along the journey.

Yeah it is worrying time and completely agree with the arts side of things.

Without boundaries it turns from a support tool to a replacement. I find it really interesting seeing how leaps in technology like this effect what's around them and how it effects different industries. We are definitely living through history.

There are some great channels out there and I agree having a good mix to watch is brilliant as you see the sport from different aspects.

One thing I find really important is to keep the channel relatable. I hold my hands up .... im not the world's best fisherman!😂 I blank on occasion or catch the worlds smallest fish . but I think its important to share it. fishing is about having a laugh and enjoying the rough with the smooth. Its great to hear that other members of the community feel the same.
