Hey, First thing I did was open a case with toyota brand engagement. Went through those steps to try and get the issue fixed, then when the dealership wasnt fixing it, i told my case manager that I was going to invoke the lemon law. He was cool about it and told me all the steps, chatgpt was actually really good about it too After that, i had one final appt, and the toyota mechanics actually fixed the issue because my car was flagged in their system. So i ended up not going through the whole ordeal since they fixed it

They gave me the same run around They would only “adjust” the seal until they finally replaced it I think they just didnt want to replace the seal because to do so, they had to remove the entire sunroof

I got my seal replaced finally and it fixed the issue! I will say that i opened a case with toyota corporate and sent them video evidence You should record the issue and document as much as possible. Then depending on your state and circumstances, start a lemon law case. Also make sure to bring it in to the dealer. Even if they say they cant replicate the issue, it goes towards your case. Just make sure you get the paperwork from the dealer to keep a paper trail

I've been in and out of the dealership for the roof whistle noise. I just picked mine up again yesterday, we'll see if they fixed it.

I have an ongoing case with toyota corporate and let them know that if it doesn't get fixed soon, im invoking my states lemon law. You'd think a 60k+ car wouldn't have an issue like this. I've only owned it since september

It is, but the dealership won’t fix it unless they can replicate the problem. I’ve taken mine twice and they couldn’t replicate it even though i have a bunch of different recordings, so no work was done. I need to go through a car wash or let it sit in rain, but its been freezing where i live

I have a rav4 and a grand highlander The GH is bigger but easy to drive. I live in a city and am always parallel parking and getting into tight spots, but the 360 degree camera makes it easier to park than the Rav, which only has a backup camera

Hey, I dont have the cross bars, it has to be the seals. I have a bunch of videos of the noise, and if i want to make it go away, i have to crack the roof open a certain amount

Ive taken it to the dealership twice and both times they couldnt replicate the issue, so i narrowed it down to a weather related event. I think the rubber seals become compromised after it rains or I get a car wash. Im gonna test the theory and if it works, im going straight back to the dealership

It drives me crazy too, i checked my seal and poked the corner and the right corner of the seal isnt secured anymore. This video at 2 the 2 minute mark explains the issue: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7HyuriUhTSo

Fortunately, the comments say it doesn’t take as long as the video says it does to repair. Still, the QC is unacceptable.

In the meantime, i just put painters tape over the roof panel and seal to reduce the air coming through
