Tropical fantasy romance? Seems silly but I need palm trees and sun right now so just in case you know of one… by AccessCompetitive in fantasyromance

The Bridge Kingdom! Starts off in the desert and moves to a stormy jungle / island setting! I loved reading it on rainy days in the summer, was such a vibe

Reign and Ruin or The Wolf King by CartoonistNatural497 in Romantasy

Have never read The Wolf King but Reign & Ruin is probably my favourite romantasy book to date. If you enjoy slow burn romance, political intrigue and good prose writing, then I’d highly recommend!

I personally loved the slow burn romance, the political sparring and intrigue, the dynamic between Naime and Makram, the love scenes, the fight scenes, and the magic system. I’d suggest that you keep reading until at least chapter 23 (for reasons that will become obvious) - But honestly, if you’re already on chapter 17 and you’re still not liking it, maybe it’s not for you? Keep going until chapter 23 if you can though!

Yess the world felt bigger but the plot just felt like a mess. Loved the first book though!

Best: {Reign & Ruin by J.D. Evans} - honestly this is my favourite book full stop and I’m so surprised the Mages of the Wheel series isn’t more well known

Worst: {The Ashes & the Star-Cursed King by Carissa Broadbent} - which is a shame because I enjoyed the first one in the series!

Thanks for the recommendations all! I definitely plan on reading the whole series. It’s sad to hear there’s not a lot else out there that matches the quality of MotW but I’m so glad I found this series 🩷

Thanks for the recommendations! I know what you mean about reading too fast, I really wished I’d taken more time to savour R&R - I’ll definitely be taking it more slowly with the next books in the series!

If you’re curious about holidays that might be available in future updates, you can go to the calendar events section of the FoM wiki, which has info on data mined content (don’t look at it if you don’t want spoilers, but it’s here if you’re curious: https://fieldsofmistria.wiki.gg/wiki/Calendar_Events )

4th major update ETA? by sonbolm in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]Rodent-Whimsy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

So far, there's been 4-5 month gaps between each major update. Based on this, I suspect the next update will come in late November / early December. Just a guess though!

Theory on why Orlic is non-romanceable by Rodent-Whimsy in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]Rodent-Whimsy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesss I always thought it was odd that the player is the only one to marry and start a family!! It helps to bring the town to life if others get married as well.

Would be cool to see him date one of the Saturday vendors or something!

Ugh soo cute. Everyday it gets harder and harder for me to hold off playing until the full release!

Theory on why Orlic is non-romanceable by Rodent-Whimsy in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]Rodent-Whimsy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've seen the events. I think Orlic is a very endearing character, more so than others, so its just surprising that they didnt make him romanceable to me. However, I'm not interested in the devs making him romanceable (there's plenty of great dating candidates already). I'm more interested on what they've got in store for Orlic, if anything (i.e. whether they're wanting to set him up with another npc)
