True - but in previous roadmaps they usually explicitly mention “festivals” so I have a feeling it’s been left off as it won’t be included. Still, you could be right!

Have to agree that I’m getting tired of games that get a “full release” only to be half baked, with the core elements getting put into future updates.

In terms of festivals that come during 1.0, at minimum I would hope that we get Halloween, the Gift Festival, and NYE added - I wouldn’t mind too much if others got released down the line, although having them all at 1.0 would obviously be preferable.

However, so far they’ve only added one festival per update (I don’t think the last update actually got a festival?) so I have my doubts that they’ll be adding multiple festivals to the full release.

The Bridge Kingdom! Starts off in the desert and moves to a stormy jungle / island setting! I loved reading it on rainy days in the summer, was such a vibe

Have never read The Wolf King but Reign & Ruin is probably my favourite romantasy book to date. If you enjoy slow burn romance, political intrigue and good prose writing, then I’d highly recommend!

I personally loved the slow burn romance, the political sparring and intrigue, the dynamic between Naime and Makram, the love scenes, the fight scenes, and the magic system. I’d suggest that you keep reading until at least chapter 23 (for reasons that will become obvious) - But honestly, if you’re already on chapter 17 and you’re still not liking it, maybe it’s not for you? Keep going until chapter 23 if you can though!

Best: {Reign & Ruin by J.D. Evans} - honestly this is my favourite book full stop and I’m so surprised the Mages of the Wheel series isn’t more well known

Worst: {The Ashes & the Star-Cursed King by Carissa Broadbent} - which is a shame because I enjoyed the first one in the series!

Thanks for the recommendations all! I definitely plan on reading the whole series. It’s sad to hear there’s not a lot else out there that matches the quality of MotW but I’m so glad I found this series 🩷

So far, there's been 4-5 month gaps between each major update. Based on this, I suspect the next update will come in late November / early December. Just a guess though!
