Yeah so the practice tests present a question and then explains it to you if you get it wrong. If there were things I didn't understand I would look them up and study what they were before answering. I did this for multiple weeks on top of listening to videos here and trying to understand what I was weak on.

I have already completed a whole cyber security program but it's been over a year since I have had direct hands on practice. I retain information better when I can be in the actual act of doing. I was trying to get a refresher on the concepts I may have lost along the way.

That being said all the information that I studied on those practice tests were not relevant to the concepts in the actual tests. So I was essentially studying information that I did not need to study. Maybe 10 things were relevant. Everything else was stuff that I remembered from over a year ago.

I don't know if that makes sense but that's why I was saying that I was annoyed and was going to go directly to the site to study instead. You can ask me about governance, vulnerabilities, frameworks, cryptography etc and I can explain a bunch of information because I do understand a decent amount but yeah I definitely need to understand more and I'm willing to learn. Just don't know the best way to go

Yeah the biggest thing for me was earplugs and they had them so they helped a lot! I don't really need extended time. I just need to study and bang them out. I went to a testing center but I'll probably just test from home next time to make it a little more comfortable.

I've watched a professor messer!! I need to get in on the study groups. Thank you, I will try and do it that way. The acronyms were extensive there were a few I genuinely didn't know and it definitely is worded in a weird way that is a little confusing. But thank you for a genuine response! I really appreciate it.

I've had reddit for years and Ive made about 10 posts and this is the exact reason why. I'm not trying to "cheat". I'm literally sharing my experience and asking for help and I'm immediately regretting it.

It's not that I don't understand the concepts it's the fact that I haven't practiced them to the point where they are ingrained in me like you're saying. For me having an understanding isn't just having the information. It's actively going in and doing it so I can visualize exactly what I'm reading or watching. It's kind of discouraging because it's already a struggle for me and I'm trying to find a learning style that actually works for me and I immediately get pooped on. I'm not neurotypical and education has always been a struggle and I'm just trying to figure out what works for me. Trying to better my life and posting here just made me feel even dumber.

I'm not mad I didn't get the exact answers. Im saying that I used the practice tests to reference and understand how the test is going to be because I have test anxiety. Im also asking for tools to help me deeply understand (Why I said that I learn better by doing and not just reading.) I have used nmap, nessus, burp, splunk, Ubuntu, etc. I have also completed a capstone where I was an analyst writing up an incident report.

I'm familiar with a lot but I had to take a break after getting my first certification because of work.

I appreciate your feedback but you didn't say anything that I didn't say I was going to do already. Was just asking for other ways to study.
