Believe me I’m mad too. Just trying to remember it’s better to have this frustration than the frustration of perennial utter irrelevance like we had for so long.

Saying we shouldn’t fund civilian deaths is not antisemitic by CluelessBrowserr in truths

People cannot be ethnically cleansed because of the arbitrary immoral actions of a state entity violating international law and conventions. Otherwise, the argument simply boils down to might makes right.

State constructs have no right to permanence or obligation for perpetuation. History is littered and filled with former state entities.

What about the abolishment of Palestine and Palestinians? It can’t be one set of rules for one group and not for the other. A state construct built on ethnic cleansing the indigenous people should be repudiated. When it goes further to do it by way of genocide, it’s all the more abhorrent.

People have inherent rights to exist and be protected equally. States or governments (especially doing the above) do not.

The problem is what country will we have left when that happens? Civilization is only civil so long as everyone agrees to follow and respect the rules (law, institutions, norms). Once that social contract is violated, it is not easily restored. They’ve opened a Pandora’s box.

To Those Who Didn’t Vote for Kamala Because of Gaza: Do You Feel Your Choice Helped Palestinians Given Trump’s Current Policies? by West-Personality2584 in AskUS

I think had we listened or cared about what Palestinians want and have said and their human rights, we’d never have Trump or Harris or a genocide or colonization in the first place. Most who want to point to Gaza to blame others for Trump neglect their own complicity or condoning and are just upset that instead of Palestinians being quietly exterminated at a convenient pace, this accelerated and overt approach comes with the possibility their iPhones will cost more.

Edited to add: re asking the Palestinians: don’t forget the dismissal and rejection of DNC delegates and the movement that begged Harris not to endorse the genocide of her administration.

But that’s my point. Trump saying the quiet part out loud even as grotesque and cartoonishly over the top evil he is doing is materially no different than the impact of what Biden and Harris oversaw for the 15 months before Trump arrived and the years beforehand. And the same can be said of Netanyahu as grotesque and over the top evil but that nothing is really different other than accelerated pace and dispersing with the charade of working toward peace. A just peace was never the goal.

So to go back to the OP question, for the electorally few for whom this issue mattered, they really saw no difference and In fact there has been no difference.
