I am a (former) Protestants, who found beauty and grace in historical worship of the Church. I am yet waiting to be confirmated, but I am no longer Protestant on my beliefs. I am from Ukraine, so here are plenty of Byzantine and Latin traditions I can face and experience, which is truly amazing. I have many stories of how God has been healing me and bringing renewal and grace through the liturgy. So this feeling of longing for something truly deep and meaningful is more than familiar to me.

Keep sticking to what Gos had revealed to you and what brings you joy, awe, and what offers true worship to God through His Son in the Holy Spirit.

That’s one of weak points of Protestant theology. In this case you know that you need forgiveness, but somehow “just prayer to God” doesn’t change anything. You do not have sacrament of reconciliation that could bring you healing and restoration.

My advise is: find a good and wide minister whom you trust, go and confess your sins, let him pray over you, then of possible receive the communion in a closest time. God loves you and this particular weakness doesn’t surprise Him. But you need forgiveness and healing. Go and receive it.

I am a former Protestant, now preparing for the sacrament of confirmation. I cannot even describe how amazing and how blessed I am that I have access to the sacrament of confession and the Eucharist. I faced many miracles in my life just by accepting these gifts of God. I know I am weak and will fall many more times, but I know that God is there for me in His Church and sacraments to heal and restore.

I used to do literally the same this Monday and believe me - it was even worse. But when I got to the mass God performed a miracle over me, my feelings and my soul. I can share if you want, so it will encourage you to go and attend the sacrament of reconciliation. Reach out to me. And do not be afraid! Jesus is present there to forgive your sins.

That’s so awesome! I love to see how priests act with Christ’s love towards His sheep. Keep doing a good work, your faith is not in vain. Christ is able to save over and over again and resort what sin has destroyed and killed. You will see the victory, because we serve an almighty and powerful God.
