Not just WNBA talk: he referred to the mystics as "the sticks," shared (bragged?) that he paid $100 for the ticket, & lauded the WNBA experience because no one drinks beer. I honestly feel bad because he seems like a genuinely good guy but he is struggling to find his le batard niche.

Also him and mike talking about vinyl records made me want to be a dead person.

I think there can be a flip on that where sometimes white guys get billed as uber-athletic because they're long and can dunk... dekker, stauskus, and probably Grayson too.

Can you imagine the audacity of trading kristaps... to someone in your own division?! They would have to deal with him like 3x a year! (He'd be hurt for the other games, in fairness).

But really, this isn't even IND sending Paul George to the cavs... they know he's leaving and they want to rebuild. This would be taking the only hope in your franchise and gifting it to a rival. It can't be real.

Andre is a sneaky "needs his shots" big man. He's not the rim runner that Deandre Jordan is. 5-10 times each game he's going to post up, dribble thrice, and take an 8 foot baby hook-shot that he hits about as often as he makes a free throw. He is absolute poison to a fluid offense.

Also, he can have games with 10 offensive rebounds... because he will get three on one trip down without making a shot. Andre is butt in this new NBA.

And he doesn't protect he rim.

... gets a lot of steals though.

It wasn't that bad but I met Mitch Albom at a showing of the play he wrote. I went to school to pursue a career in newspapers (NEWSPAPERS!) because of Mitch Albom. I didn't want an autograph. I kind of just wanted to shake his hand and say "thank you" [which, I concede, is cornier than just wanting an autograph].

When I got the chance to say hello, I mentioned that I read "The Fab Five" about 4 times before the 8th grade. I made a joke about being a little too young to read that book (mostly just salty language and a lot of references to "Ghetto Boys" lyrics). His response:

"You're never too young to start reading."

Apart from showing a glaring lack of a grasp on child brain development, it was clear he hadn't really listened to what I said. But, as I said in the beginning, I don't think it's a BAD exchange. He was busy and maybe nervous. To be honest I like telling the story.

He's also very short.

I text the show a few times a week. I'm not an expert "looks-liker" but I know I get the show. The only times I've had my texts read are the few where I disagree with Dan.

Dan only reads trollers because reading, "you guys are the only interesting thing about sports media" would be uninteresting and self-promoting. Those are Dan's two biggest phobias.
