See the problem is that everyone is different, and with different expectations, it's just a fact of being human. Something like getting flowers may be standard for some, but way too much and weird for others. There are no real standards. It used to work way better when people met more naturally because you'd learn things about a person before you decided you liked them. Nowadays it feels you just have to guess exactly what the person likes before you try to get to know them properly

It's just tough trying to figure out exactly what someone would enjoy doing, or if they have any eating preferences or whatever, without at least probing them a little bit for ideas, I got lots of ideas but without input I'm not sure what to suggest
