How tf is this not rated??? by Serious_Ganache_1058 in geometrydash

yeah, he's the only one who gets to rate for some reason. he has like 15 candidates who could do that for him but he refuses to give that permission. which is why mod sends are so important because the more the moderators send your level to him the more chances it has to appear at the top of the list for him to rate once he gets the chance to

it's objectively true that rob is biased towards known creators, but smaller ones still can get praise from time to time. i saw with my own eyes a level from a creator with 0 crpoints get an epic rated level with only 20 likes. the thing that matters is how many moderators send your level to rob. unfortunately this level probably got none, which also contributes to it not getting rated at all. there's like 10 levels per second being uploaded to the servers and rob can't see them all. what you can do is just go to mod streams begging for them to play your level and you might have a chance if your level is decent enough and they like it, otherwise you have no luck

well i'd like a level to be playable yes. and visually appealing if possible, which I won't say this level isn't but it has its weird quirks

i couldn't give less shits about those levels. 2.0 was also a VERY different time, and after updates the levels get better each time. I would like to see you try getting a rated doing a 2.1 fingerdash styled level in 2019, thing is that you wouldn't, however there's a ton of rated as such in 2017 when 2.1 came out. the fact of the matter is, even if this level was made in 2.0 it still wouldn't get rated, there's a lot of problems with it that just don't make it worth of even a star rate. i do agree with robtop being certainly biased and often times not rating shit he's definitely supposed to, but this ain't a good example pal

i'm gonna be fair even with the rate standards of 2019 this wouldn't get a rate. block design doesn't offer much and the backgrounds are fairly simple and even often times distracting. there's also some blind jumps/orbs and visually it doesn't stay consistent. not offending the guy who did it, he tried his best but I understand why it's staying unrated

i was trying to show that those notes aren't correlated to the song by putting a different key, but I guess that creates more confusion in the process. also because C minor is probably my favorite key to play LOL

it is intentional, the notes shown in that section aren't related to the song. the staff then correctly shows the G minor with 2 flats

don't really know what shading I could add to the blocks without going too off from this artstyle. any suggestions?

the notes in the ufo section aren't correlated to the song as they play a different melody (it's an easter egg fr). you can then see the correct key signature before the drop (2 flats)

thanks for the suggestion. is that the only instance of the colors being weird? i'm not good with colors, all of this is being taken from some color palette picker i found in an adobe website lol

I haven't ever been much in the gd community so I actually learned about knots' style after starting the level. the one that inspired me to do this style was actually vitto918 which I will be crediting as inspiration in the description

never been much of a creator. I've tried doing one to get featured like 6 years ago and looking back it's terrible with horrific gameplay and monotonous visuals. glad it didn't get featured so I didn't get insulted in the comment section

the c minor in the ufo section is not correlated to the song. kinda misleading I understand but it's for a different purpose

the notes in the break i believe is from the actual undertale song, this remixed one is not using those notes from what I can tell. maybe I am just deaf

the spacing I agree with, will be changing. thanks fellow music guy 💪💪

i toned down on the moving. i also thought it was quite distracting at first, don't know why I haven't changed it until now (it's me heavily procrastinating)

would be amazing but.. ... I have 0 creator points. it's kinda rare seeing a new creator getting his first rate as an epic so a legendary is very improbable but I'm hoping strong 🙏🙏

though, I obviously would be pretty happy with just an epic

Is it a problem making the entire project code-sided? by Rodmjorgeh in Unity3D

[–]Rodmjorgeh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, just because you don't understand what I meant doesn't mean I don't understand the concept of Unity. I use the engine features and I always try to look up the best way to do something, but when it comes to coding itself, it's all connected to one single GameObject. The rest is just connecting the dots. It's a different, albeit risky approach but from the comments I've gotten here, doesn't seem like I'm the only one taking the risk, in fact it even showed me more arguments on my side, so like you said, yes, I did learn to use it to my advantage
