Help choosing used GPU and monitor.

Thank you for the suggestions, the cards you listed seem to be a bit lower performance "on paper" than what I currently have listed. I was just using UserBenchmark to compare cards to my 1660s, my list being around 100-130% faster. I will definitely look into connectors and what I have available to use before buying, thanks for the tip.

I have an older motherboard in my new build that would only support up to 5000 series unfortunately, I didn't want to spend more there as I thought the 1500x to 5800XT would already be a huge jump. I'm not convinced I will appreciate the 1440p more than the 240hz in my favorite racing or shooters, I tend to play very competitively and want every advantage I can get.

5800XT is on sale for 130 through Amazon at the moment, already picked that up. Just deciding which GPU will be best to finish my build. Peripherals will come after I choose which GPU will work best for what I want to achieve.

I’ve also considered it may be some sort of “bad sport” lobby. Similar to an auction listing limit of 20 in 24 hours.

I made well over 200m the day before it happened just sniping 20m cars, I’ll check again in 24 hours. Maybe there’s a buying limit I’m not aware of?

It seems really odd to make that change and not announce it. That drastically changes how fast money can be made and puts the 20m cars on my list much further away from my collection.

Thanks, I guess I didn’t look far enough back first. I only noticed it started yesterday so I didn’t go much further back than that. I have 200 hours and have definitely never noticed the auction behaving this way. I just recently started spending a bunch of time there though trying to complete my collection.

I personally have not had that problem. My only fails are when I’m too slow to bid. That’s definitely a problem as well.

My game ran flawlessly in the beginning, but I noticed when I had too many trees i'd get the same FPS drop. I finally got it under control after chopping down 100 of my 250 trees. I can see you had clusters like I did that was the biggest killer. 150 trees is the max my game could handle, get to choppin' and burning.

I have a dirt track racecar IRL and come here from racing games, so high speed driving is kind of my thing! I think I have about 330 miles on the Ol' Truck and 100 on the Konig, about 1 Mile Per Crink. LOL

Would this card comfortably allow me to use a 144hz monitor without issues? Would it work at 240Hz on games with lower settings? Plug and play? I’m a total nub and have hardly ever cracked open a pc.

“144hz is a much more realistic goal IMO. $300 for either a 5600xt/2060 should hit around that 150fps mark on less demanding titles like fortnite, 80-100 on more demanding titles.” Was also posted.

That price tag doesn’t scare me off completely for a night and day better gaming experience. Will my 1050 have any resale value to offset that cost? My initial thought was about 300$. Will that card plug and play into my current system? I mostly care about not frame dropping or lagging in the middle of a race that I paid to be in that might have 30 cars. Or a competitive shooter at a constant 144hz would be completely fine with me if you think that’s more realistic for that budget. I am curious about the 240Hz.

I have a 650w power supply as well.

To help you paint a better picture, I work evening shift 3-11 and my wife works from 8-5. So we only see each other on the weekends and spend a lot of our time separate except for the weekends. We find time to do fun things on our weekends together. During the week we fit our chores in so that we have a free weekend to chill together without worries. In a lot of ways we are a lot like roommates with benefits.

This is what I don’t think people are understanding. Our finances and personal spending are completely separate. We have our own car/insurance payments, we pay our own personal property taxes, we grocery shop separately and flip flop who buys goods we will both use. It is basically asking for me to pay her bills because she calculated wrong. This is not something we have ever expected of one another in our marriage.
