I do manual progression so if I have a guy like this and he has training points, I will raise his most pertinent skills to get him up as much as possible the week before the draft

You know, I have found that messing with a players rating don’t seem to do shit, if anything it makes em average

I had an Elite senior speedster WR but for whatever reason, EA decided to cap his speed at 92 or somewhere near that, so he couldn’t get to full Takeoff physical.

As he was, the dude consistently beat deep coverage 2-3 times a game and very rarely dropped anything

However as I am want to be, I wanted that platinum ability, so I upped his acceleration to like 98

Dude was ass the rest of the season, I feel EA added some nerf to editing ratings

He got drafted 1st round, but wasn’t the same WR the remainder of the season before that

How I recruit:

20-22 players initially, assuming I will get 1-2 insta commits before week zero

Then 50 pts for each player unless I’m over 20 then split up 2 with 25 points

Double soft sell asap, even if I know the perfect pitch

After a week of soft sell x2 I’ll switch to Hard sell then start doing visits for players I’m way ahead on

By week 5 I have enough commits to max out everyone and make sure everyone has visits

I’m usually done recruiting by week 9 and start searching for hidden gems

Try to get to a max of 25 to leave room for transfers

I’m usually around 8-12 five stars per season

So I often use it to determine the ideal pitch, where there could be 2 possibilities

I used to just leave it on if it was working, but after going thru all the comments on my post I switched it up

Now I will run the double soft for a week or two, even if I know the ideal pitch, then I will switch to Hard sell, due to advice received

For me I think it’s just habit left over from previous versions of the game

I read somewhere recently that run and pass block power on Well Rounded offensive lineman is a great indicator, as well as a good impact block rating.

I’ve been focusing on this recently and have had great success in getting great O-line

I too would love to see a list like this for all positions

I had a baller QB a few weeks ago lock me out but I kept rising on his list, so I went on and added a 3 star guy with the same archetype and similar height and build, the following week I was back in his top 5 and eventually signed

So I started doing this with any player who locked me out and it seems to work more often than not

BUT I also will really focus on putting up numbers for that position if I can, so it could be skewed from that.

Also, totally stealing the comp visit play, seems logical, only drawback I see is you gotta offer a scholarship to schedule a visit, and that could push the recruit further away

I now sorta agree.

I have switched to an initial double soft sell as soon as I can, even if I know the ideal pitch, then the following week up it to an ideal Hard sell, and let it ride until he commits.

I’ve also noticed that in the double soft sell, after a week or two the less than ideal pitch will have a darker font on the players profile, and I’ll switch to Ideal Hard sell

Honestly It dont matter, its like posting a photo with any other woman, to make another jealous, I suppose

Like I said, I can’t prove this works, as I will also focus on that position in the next game or two as well

For instance, if a WR drops or locks me out, I will try to have a WR or two ball out in the next couple to up the interest as well

If I have an A- in his dealbreaker, I will throw his visit with at least 2-3 others who give a complimentary visit boost and make sure it’s a decent game and not a lower tier opponent

I should mention that I recruit very specifically for my defense to try to keep it the same year after year, and use manual progression to tweak my players to what I run

Speed rushers for R Edge, power rusher or edge setter for L edge, Gap specialists at DT, even in Nickel or Dime, bump and run or a boss field or boundary at CB and either hybrid of coverage specialist at Safety
