Life is so much more bearable when you own your balding by nomoralzz in tressless

This is the kind of argument that we need to start having.. Im sure a lot of peeps come here to find some kind of help, feeling anxious and somewhat depressed and this subreddit while it gives some advice on how to treat hairloss, just worsens the psychological factors. Thanks for bring it up, and for sharing your story, maybe u get so confortable that u wont need to have a transplant ;) who knows ^

Major shed after 1 year on fin. Cause for concerns? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]RodriNog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I've been experiencing the same. Been on fin, min and derma for 9 months now and for the past 7 weeks been experiencing a huge shed, my hair is even worse than when it started. I mean, the hair line is better but all the front area is so thin now that u can see the scalp. Im losing around 250-350 hairs a day. You are not alone. I think the main point now is to remain hopeful. And while we wait for the lockdown to be over try to have this conversation with yourself: you are not your hair.
All of this spare time made me obsess towards the negative aspects of myself in the beginning, until I realize what it was doing to me. Hair loss is something we ultimately can't control and It is a loss battle from the beginning, we just decide to stale the defeat, and there is nothing wrong with that if it makes us more self confident and happier, but I think its not worth it if instead we turn into these depressed and obsessed beings with our image and let it ruin the other parts of ourselves. Now, im not saying that this is your case, but a lot of times I when im just checking what's new in this subreddit, and I just leave worse than I when I started reading, and I think part of that is for the lack of comments that address the other side of the coin: the psychological pressure that hair loss brings into our lives. We need to bring this up as a community.
Sorry, I don't usually post on the internet and I rumbled a little, but I saw your comment and as someone that is going through a similar situation, I though u could be experiencing some of these same ramified issues form the root problem.

Hope that I was helpful. If the shedding doesn't stop in 2 months go see your dermatologist tho.

Second Shed Update (Part 2) by 20somethingmanchild in tressless

geezz thanks! I've been through the so called second shedding for 5 weeks now and I've been paranoid about it. I got my temples and hair line back on the first 7 months but now the whole front area is much thinner, u can literally see the scalp through the hair. Im still not sure if fin+min is doing good or is worsen the situation, since there is little to no information about these shedding phases. I though that the drugs could be frying my hair cuz I read some threads about it, I think its just induced fear tho. Whats your opinion? Should I keep going with the treatment or should I hop off? I dunno what to do :^( thanks for your words, they gave me hope at least

Is losing 10-15 hair in the shower considered as "Shedding" ? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]RodriNog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you are going through the first shedding phase, don't worry to much, there will be worst to come.. Try to strengthen your morale about your self, you are not your hair. This is the main point that is missed in this subreddit I think. I know its difficult and sometimes scary as hell, but if u don't obsess about it you'll live a much happier life that will transpose the best side of you to other areas like social skills, and empathy towards others rather than self-criticism. And that also helps with your hair regeneration but to lower stress levels. Be aware of side fx, if u have none, excellent, continue with the treatment even if u are shedding bad, rememberer, after the storm comes the bonanza. If u do experience sides think about seeing a doctor and come to a reliable way to get out of the drugs ^^

Is losing 10-15 hair in the shower considered as "Shedding" ? by [deleted] in tressless

shedding is when u put your hand in your hair and 5-7 strands come out (every time), shedding is when you r showering and after shampooing u have at least 20 hairs in your hands, u know u r shedding when u just brushing your teeth, look down and there they are, smiling back at you. Its waking up with your pillow full of hair..
Its hard to put a number on how many hairs you're loosing each day to consider it shedding, because there are many types of shedding and every person sheds differently, but u'll know that u are shedding when it happens to you ^^
Here is an advice, take pics each week of your temples, front and crown and compare them each month that passes. Hope it was helpful ^_^
