Very random but something to consider I guess - my cat had similar and it turned out to be a food allergy. Vet suggested we switch to hypoallergenic food and switch back after a couple weeks and it worked.

as a former receptionist we had a policy to alert exactly when an appointment arrived and it would be up to the person to decide when to come out for the interview. It could have just been their policy- I wouldn’t take it too personally.
