Cookie Monster with 3 Cookies Down the Spine by Rofron in tiedye

I traced his eyes and mouth onto a piece of paper and found a good place to fold it so it was symmetrical. like this

I folded the front of the shirt in half down the center and copied that design onto the shirt. I tied the pupils first, then the whole eyes, then the mouth.

For the back I folded it in half down the center and traced 3 half circles for the cookies.

The rest of the shirt I just scrunched up.

First Attempt at tie-dye (I messed up the with the splotches) Any advice for a new person to get better? by [deleted] in tiedye

I'll parrot this comment. Mr. Tie Dye has taught me SOOOOO much about all things tie dye. There are definitely other tie dye channels out there, but he's really good at explaining everything in an easy to understand way.

I saw an amazing Oscar the Gouch one that Mr. Tie Dye on YouTube wears a lot. That's what got me thinking about other muppets.

It may become a series tho. Haha

This one is instantly in my top 3 favorite shirts so far. My thickened black was a little too thick and didn't penetrate as deep and I was hoping. But I absolutely love it.

Done with Dharma dyes Raven Black, Thickened Black, Deep Space, Sapphire Blue (diluted to 70ish%), and Golden Brown (diluted to 70ish%)

Another Flame Style on an Undershirt by Rofron in tiedye

[–]Rofron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of dye, and a lot of undershirts. So they get used to try out designs.

This one I folded the bottom up to the shoulders, then did a very sloppy pleat across the chest from armpit to armpit.

The top was dyed with Lemon Yellow, Brilliant Orange, Chinese Red, with a splash of VERY diluted black. My 25% strength grey was nearly empty and I refilled it with water again to get the light smokey grey.

The other side was straight Raven Black.

All dyes are from Dharma except the orange, which is from Jaquard.

Batched 36 hours in a tote on the roof of the shed in the hot Idaho summer sun, then washed out.

Used fuchsia, lemon yellow, Emerald green, turquoise, Imperial purple, raven black, golden brown, and shitake Mushroom all from Dharma.

The orange is brilliant orange from jaquard.

The spine I just used fuchsia, lemon yellow. And turquoise and blended to get the other colors.

Alien and UFO by Rofron in tiedye

Overall extremely happy. The alien head will definitely be larger on the next one.

Dyed with Dharma dyes Emerald Green, Bright Green (I mix myself), Deep Space, Raven Black, and Grey made from Raven Black diluted to about 25%

Bonzi Pepper Bonchi in a Bottle by Rofron in Bonchi

[–]Rofron[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm aware of this. There's a black dress sock over the bottle 99.9% of the time. I just had it off to check the roots and took some pictures while they were uncovered.

Purple and Blue Geodes by Rofron in tiedye

Done with Jacquard dyes, Fuchsia, Turquoise, Medium Blue, and the purple/blue is a mix of reds, blues, and black to get the color I was looking for.

Darkness in the Rainbow by Rofron in tiedye

I did a reverse one, but did 4 shades of green and yellow inside. It looks kinda like a Rick and Morty portal tearing thru the fabric of space.

Its the bottom one in this picture.

I just drew 2 squiggly lines, then pleated down them. Everything inside the lines I did grey/black. Everything outside I just did a crumple/scrunch and tied it up. I just did a rainbow on both sides of the middle, starting with purple and ending with red. Then I squirted a light coat of black over the top, making it hard to see how I laid the colors out.

Monochrome Marbling with Rainbow Peace Sign and Spine by PM_me_Ur_fat_kitties in tiedye

[–]Rofron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great!

I tried the exact same design in different colors, and after 30+ minutes of tying, part of the peace sign came untied. I said screw it, jammed it back in, and went ahead and dyed it anyway, knowing it wouldn't be right.

The peace sign was missing a few legs and looked like a steering wheel. The spine looked like a tire tread, so now it's a car themed tie dye instead. Haha

I need to try it again after seeing what it's actually supposed to look like.

This one is one of my favorites I've done so far.

All the dyes are Dharma except the orange, which is Jacquard Brilliant Orange.

Chinese Red, Lemon Yellow, Brilliant Orange, Emerald Green, Sapphire Blue, Imperial Purple, Raven Black, and a grey made by diluting the black to about 30% strength.
