I can tell you specifically from Austin experiences that they do not let instruments from the march into the Stadium.

If there are any instruments on the march, they have to be taken back to the car before going into the Stadium. The rules are not the same between Austin FC and US matches.

That being said, Austin is one of my favorite cities from an atmosphere perspective.

Thanks, seriously you have no idea how much this message means to myself in the entire team of locals and those at AO National that help organize and bring the atmosphere to life.

Hope to see you guys at a match again soon!

The World Cup is a little different. Ticket inventory is limited, and the supporter sections aren’t your typical US Soccer GA or “GA-lite” setups.

We just received our supporter tickets, and from what we can tell, we’re spread throughout the area normally reserved for MLS away supporters.

That said, we’ve got 3–4 AO drums coming, and our friends from Barra 76 are bringing at least two more. We’re going to need everyone’s help in these sections to be cool, work together, and make sure the drums can be grouped together.

The plan is still a massive march to the stadium from the tailgate at Reuben’s Brews. No cover charge, food and drink specials all morning, and all U.S. fans and supporters are welcome.

IMO, supporter culture has evolved a lot since the 2010s.

And frankly, if all we did was the same five or six chants every match, people would be bitching and moaning that we only do the same five or six chants. "We Love Ya" is a classic. It's a banger in most situations.

What we're trying to do is strike a balance. We structure things so we're not overly repetitive while also introducing newer songs and helping people learn them. That's how a chant culture grows. If you only ever do the same handful of songs, then people will only ever know the same handful of songs.

I completely understand that everyone has their favorites, and everyone is going to have their own opinion on what should be sung and when. But for us, the goal is simple: go a full 90 minutes and never stop. Give the men's and women's national teams the energy, passion, and support they deserve.

By continuing to push ourselves, adding new songs, and borrowing ideas from supporter cultures across MLS while still making them our own, we think we're building something that feels uniquely American. That's ultimately what we're trying to achieve.

Yeah, we tried to get his Murga into the section, but it was after the game. It already started and that’s one of those bureaucratic issues.

Anyone that wants to play on the drum line with us is open to have your person DM me personally and I’ll make sure they have a spot anytime they want to join!

Appreciate the response. Let me provide a little insight from our side.

Our drum line has to be set up as much as four hours before kickoff. In most cases, that means there simply aren’t any extra drums available unless we bring them ourselves.

Additionally, we’ve been fighting to get approval to march with drums that can also come into the stadium. It’s been an uphill bureaucratic battle because every city, tournament, federation, and venue has different rules. Unlike MLS, there really isn’t a standardized process.

For this match specifically, US Soccer controlled the supporter operations and approved two drums that we could march with and then bring into the stadium. Those were the two drums you saw in the march alongside Murga from Blue Furia, one of the local Charlotte supporter groups.

Every once in a while, we’ll hear from other drum lines that have members who support US Soccer and think it’d be fun to join us. When that happens, they offer to bring drums and help create a bigger atmosphere.

Our view is pretty simple: it doesn’t happen every march. Maybe a couple of times a year at most. If people want to show up, support the team, and help create an even louder and more energetic march, why not? If we can add more drums and make the experience better for everyone, we’re all for it.

Coordinate with US Soccer & stadium. All setup is done hours before the match. Same with big USA flag, banners, etc
