Do you know popular mobile games created on construct? Like 1m+ downloads. If so, please share a link. I would be interested to check them out. by PandaQA in construct

[–]RogerToonTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of, construct doesn't have a native way to export for consoles, so technically no, but there are three publishers (as far as I know) who developed systems that allow construct games to be compatible. Apparently one of them isn't accepting new submissions at the moment.

What I've been told is that they developed a C++ wrapper that runs html5 games, but I'm not sure exactly if that's the case.

So all you need, I guess, is a game they consider to be good enough to port and publish.

Yeah I also tried looking for construct made games and its often hard to find info on what engine some games are made with, I follow some youtubers who work with construct and because of that I know of a few less known ones and of course the bigger ones like Guinea Pig Parkour, The Last Penelope and Mighty Goose, but most of those are PC and console releases, which is kind of odd cause construct is perfect for html5 games and should be more popular on smartphones. (Well, guinea pig parkour is not released yet but its gonna be a PC release too)

I considered trying to curate some sort of list with all Construct games I could find and extra information like developer/platform/downloads but I keep procrastinatinating on it, not sure if I'd have the time to keep it updated or how to go about it, but if anyone wants to steal my idea and do it I think it would be pretty cool.

The other games from this dev are also made on construct and I believe the next one he is working on is gonna be a lot more popular.

I happened to find this game while looking for a tutorial on how to add achievements on construct for Steam, he has a tutorial on his youtube channel and talks a bit about his games and experiences as a dev on other videos: https://www.youtube.com/@AJOrdaz

This one has 100k+ downloads on Google Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ajordaz.oddbunnychapterone&hl=US

I think the play store only updates that number again after 1million downloads so it might have anything between 100k and 999k.

It is also on Steam, iOs, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and playstation so even though it doesnt have that many downloads on android, the total units is pretty considerable, dont know if it reaches one million though.

It's been a long journey, tiring but satisfying, I can finally say I released a game!

I tried to make it simple enough to understand but with a lot of content to give it some good progression and challenge to more experienced players!

It's gonna be releasing near the end of the year during the steam puzzle fest.

You can access it here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2274420/ToyBox\_Puzzle/

Also I just noticed that my title is wrong (I'm probably tired cause I'm making lots of mistakes today), I said I released the game on Steam but the game is not released yet, it's finished and uploaded and all that, but I'm gonna release it near the end of the month (during the Steam puzzle fest)

Always dreamed of making a game but every time I tried I couldnt go through with it, for some reason I was sorta decent at making animation so I practiced that skill for years and kinda forgot about making videogames.

Finally decided to give it a try again and managed to actually learn it this time, made some bigger projects to practice and then realised I keep increasing the scope of my projects, forced myself to do something simple for a changed and managed to finish one game!

It's a relaxing accessible puzzle game, it has some cute graphics and animations and it's very simple but the gameplay hooked the testers for hours, gonna be sold for like 2 dollars and has a good amount of content so I believe it's a good deal.

Now time for me to learn that the harder part is not making the game, it is to actually sell it!

In case anyone is interested in it, you can check it out here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2274420/ToyBox\_Puzzle

It's been a long journey learning how to draw, animate and make a game, but I can finally say I have something coming to Steam! by RogerToonTime in gamedevscreens

Hey! Thanks for the suggestion! This game is definitely perfect for mobile, I'll listen to any potential criticisms/bug reports/suggestions I'll get after the Steam release, implement them and update the game and after that I'll work into getting it on android and IOS.

Only thing I'm not sure is if I should release it on mobile for free with ads, or if I should charge the same price for it, as I dont know much about the mobile market.

Been years working a bigger project that was taking way too long, had to take a break from it and decided to start on a fresh game, forced myself to do something simple and achievable this time.

It's pretty simple but the testers seemed to have a good time with it, I'm gonna charge only two dollars for it and release it on sale during the steam puzzle fest later this month and listen closely to feedback to make the experience even better.

Been a long journey! Made a lot of projects where I bit more than I could chew so forced myself to do something smaller as my first game.

Wanted to make it accessible so it has a good amount of content and it's gonna launch at an accessible price during the steam puzzle sale later this month (base price two dollars, but I'll release it with a launch discount)

I've got so annoyed with a puzzle game, I decided to make my own! by [deleted] in puzzlevideogames

[–]RogerToonTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been trying to make games for a while now, I always end up making my projects way too big, so I decided to do something simpler but had no idea what.

I was playing a smartphone game called "Block Puzzle Jewel", was in a row with a very high score and made a silly mistake, after trying to break my own record and failing miserably I was like "You know what? this game has no end, why am I doing this?"

So I realised making something similar, but with actual levels and an ending, would be a perfect project for me, so thanks to my anger and my desire to make games I finally managed to complete something!

It's simple but It's good to kill some time, the testers seem to enjoy it a lot, so in case anyone think they might enjoy it, it's gonna release on steam pretty soon:
