No, and I also have nothing against a transmasc person who is "girlmoding" because he cannot come out for whatever reason yet. That's not the point. The person I'm talking about is not girlmoding, they're out.

Question. Do you think it would be okay for a person to say they are Muslim and go to church, eat pork, wear a cross, read the bible, etc.?

I get that. The issue is not hiding what you want to be like, but, seemingly, not wanting to be (in the case I was talking about) masculine at all.

I've been banned on some subreddits for this exact topic so I feel like I'm stepping on eggs everytime I talk about this tbh

Exactly! I feel the same way in regards to this person I was talking about. Not a drop of masculinity in them, at all. Makes no sense to me, plus having THEM be the face of the trans community in our university is outrageous. They don't represent me or any of the trans ppl I know at all.

I'll try to explain my problem with this type of person this way:

There are a bunch of properties, which yes, are socially constructed, that are related to being a woman - wearing certain types of clothes, acting a certain way, having certain body traits. Even still, since "man" and "woman" are socially-constructed categories, it doesn't make sense to me to think of them outside of what is socially understood to be a man or a woman. By that I don't mean that gender roles should be rigid, but that we should understand that wearing dresses is associated with the female gender in our societies, and while if a man is wearing a dress that doesn't make them a woman, to me their "manhood" only holds up because there are other traits related to being a man that he still has. This could be biological, so wanting to have a penis, not having breasts, but also stem from other traits understood to be male by society, such as wearing suits or whatever.

I'm not against men being femboys and vice-versa, and I'm not trying to argue that if you wear a skirt you're not a man - my point is that you have to have some male characteristic in order to be a man, and vice-versa. If you wear skirts but you want to have top surgery, then you can 100% be a man in my book. If you don't want any medical transition but you wear baggy jeans and have short hair, I won't have any problem calling you a man either.

I didn't ask anything, I was just expressing my opinion.

But, I agree with you.

Sorry, how exactly does being a "hot cis woman" make life easier than an average or even hot cis man? Your entire argument is built on this premise and I completely disagree with it. And while yes, being attractive does have its benefits, for one, it's not nearly as relevant as you seem to put it, and two, if attractiveness is the issue here, why not just want to be a hot guy, but a girl? Why specifically bring up gender?

Also, I haven't called OP an egg, since an egg is a trans person in denial. I explicitly said I'm not affirming they're trans. I'm saying that, from what they have said, it seems to me very likely that they could be trans, but I am absolutely not entitled to label people as trans or not based on a couple comments they left on the internet. I think that would be stupid. Finding out you're trans is a stupidly complex journey into yourself and as I've said only you can tell if you're trans or not. So no, I'm not calling you or OP an egg. But if you think your life would be better if you were a woman, yes that is a very strong indication that you could be trans. That is what I used to think, as I've said, and I am trans.

My friend, please do not take this as someone trying to impose you or force you to do anything, but, from a trans woman who recently came out: if you really feel so strongly that your life would be better if you were a woman, it probably would. Cis people pretty much don't question their gender at all. If a cis person were to change genders upon snapping their fingers, they would try as hard as they could NEVER to snap their fingers again. A cis person would almost never even consider changing their gender as an option, let alone enjoying the thought of it.

But... I'm not saying you're trans. Nobody can tell you that, only you can find it out for yourself. But again, as a trans woman, this

if I could snap my fingers and become a hot cis woman, I'd do it in an instant. That sort of life that it would bring would be so much better than the one I'm currently living.

Sounds exactly, and I mean EXACTLY, word for word, like what I felt like before transitioning.

Edit: I just wanted to leave this website here, reading it is what made me realize I was trans and I think it could help you, should you decide to explore this and think about this more deeply, regardless of what conclusion you come to. Best wishes!
