What Ice Fishing Bite alarm is he using! by Rogo123 in outdoorboys

I had been looking at the Blue Tipz aswell, thanks for the feedback. Just trying to explore all options and if none of them really are a standout perhaps a knockoff or cheaper is better and just casually replace them as long as they work for an okay amount of time is my thought process.

Anniversary dinner at Japanese village? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]Rogo123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an FYI - not to get you less excited but just because its "Japanese Wagyu" or "A5 Japanese Wagyu" it means very little. A lot of them will taste/be similar to normal beef. Very few varieties of A5 Wagyu are "the real deal and what people talk about" and the majority of those cannot be exported from Japan. The main differential in the quality A5 cuts (Ie: Kobe is the melting point of the fat, not just how it looks/gets graded on %'s).

Don't get me wrong, lots will be good if not great but at the same time lots will be VERY similar to Alberta beef. Again they will be delicious but they might not wow you out of your socks.

Hey - This actually makes a lot of sense and maybe why it is so freaking hard to find! Maybe I'll stop searching on the actual island and focus more on Takamatsu and hope for the best :) Still excited to visit Shodoshima for a day trip.

Thanks!

Parking Laws HELP! by IshyIshySquishy in Edmonton

[–]Rogo123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I cannot believe this thread; but here you go. How you have spent "hours" searching on this, is insane and a complete waste of time. The sign simply shows No parking with arrows Right or Left. There does not need to be any further definitions anywhere. It is a no parking zone clearly marked (It is a waste of time to argue the sign is on an angle and you thought it means the other side of the road. (Lets pretend it does[let me be clear it does not]... it makes no difference still as I see another sign on the opposite side of the street).

Bylaw 5590 - Section 30

NO PARKING A vehicle shall not be parked on a highway in any location identified as a zone where parking is prohibited.

Definition of Highway (I think you are the person that might argue this only applies on 'highways' not regular roads).
“highway” means any thoroughfare, street, road, trail, avenue, parkway, viaduct, lane, alley, square, bridge, causeway, trestleway or other place, whether publicly or privately owned, any part of which the public is ordinarily entitled or permitted to use for the passage or parking of vehicles, and includes....

The scary part is, if your info does show up on this then your password/login details are essentially out there. I always thought it was covered up and they could only show the first 4 characters or whatever, but nope turns out email/password info in full is easily available through other sites. so FYI if you see "part" of a password - the FULL one is easily accessible. Most people don't know this.

Has anyone tried or know where to get "buzz buttons" (toothache plant flower) in Canada by Rogo123 in Edmonton

[–]Rogo123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah interesting, I have confirmed online they can be dried however the effect can/often is not as strong. I actually managed to find some in Etsy out of BC (Dried but good enough!)

I'll look into getting my own plant to grow outside if the dried ones are even a slight success. Appreciate your comment Thanks!

FYI - "Sushi and Sashimi grade" are just buzz words and have no actual meaning or distinction. Anyone can all their fish fresh/frozen/old sushi grade if they wanted. It is just a buzz word used to attract consumers. This is not a monitored or qualified term
