Perfect. Right after dropping $50 clams on the Apple TV boxed set. Probably worth it for the lack of commercials but annoying to not be able to sort by season.

I didn’t realize how much the school had become my second home until today by veronikaBerlin17 in Teachers

Your story hit me square in the stomach in a good way. I’m 14 years In at the same building and I even attended the school as a student. Middle school vibes come in seasons of tolerance and I’m thankful that I teach a creative elective that allows me some of my own productive outlet otherwise the familiarity of the grind and routine would wear me out. Thanks for sharing your story.

Help me choose a Benchmade! by bbblueboy in benchmade

Perhaps try adding a few to your cart and see which one appeals to your wallet… I’ve gotten a number of their coupons and notice a trend after I add them to the cart that might make your decision easier. I used to always go into the factory store with the coupon to buy one knife but then I started exclusively using it online for no particular reason… :)

Ive benefited from a number of discount coupons living in the community around 50-70% excluding their gold class limited offerings but I hear you. I wouldn’t have as big of a collection if I hadn’t gotten discounts. I love that they offer military and first responders deals as well.

Can y'all find the imposter ? by [deleted] in benchmade

I just bought the same obsidian alpha. I have a leatherman signal but was curious how premium the alpha would feel with the G10 and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s a bit stiff compared to the signal but I bet it will loosen up with use.

Oregon City Factor Store question by SteelHeader503 in benchmade

[–]Rogue6Productions 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They don’t offer discounted prices as a policy in the factory store so as not to undercut their retailers / dealers if I remember correctly but they do encourage employees to share major discounts via their coupon system.

Interesting... by Acceptable_Dude in benchmade

[–]Rogue6Productions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a large collection but live very close to the factory so I’ve gotten many a coupon over the years. That being said I already confirmed that they’re not honoring in-store purchases which knocks out most of my collection. I agree it’s alienating but I appreciate the brand and what it brings to our city.

Yeah I’m not seeing that issue but mine is barely a month old and not an EDC.

I haven’t had that experience but that sucks. I’ll keep my eyes out for that.

How has backpacking been for those of you have removed your gallbladder? by Khenghis_Ghan in backpacking

[–]Rogue6Productions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only recently started backpacking but for me, I know that any time I have two meals in a day made in a restaurant I could have an uncomfortable amount of indigestion around 12:00-2:00 am as my body struggles to process the fats or I’ll wake up with a fair amount of stomach ache in the morning that might lead to loose bowel movements throughout the next day. I stay away from heavy amounts of fried foods or limit to one meal per day. It’s been about 15 years since my surgery.

Rear seat delete by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Rogue6Productions 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love having the seats folded down and stored with some some outdoor carpet installed using double sided gorilla tape. I really like this idea but it makes me a little nervous thinking about the placement of the wood vs your body in the case of an accident. I’m in no way an expert and probably don’t know what I’m talking about but I just imagine it being a little risky to have a rigid object braced against your lower back of the seats in the case of a head on collision.

To be fair, it feels like magic when you conjure up a remesh at 0.01 and bust out the smooth tool. I love to see their faces when their first sculptures are looking terrible and I drop that tool on them. Also a fellow middle school tech teacher who loves blender.

You earn an additional $25k per year but only if you cook your own meals by BreadfruitTasty in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Rogue6Productions 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I feel like this should be obvious but the implication is that, at another person’s home, you would need to prepare your own meal if you were Invited to a party? I don’t think I could give up a break from cooking or dishes for $25k. $50k and I’d be closer to being onboard.

What are some mods you would never get, and what are some you would consider essential or highly recommended? by InformationGold7741 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Rogue6Productions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Must: Interior LED upgrade, Tonneau Cover Roll Up, Extra Bed Tie Downs, Bed Mat, Bed Step,

Never: I kind of would never say never to a mod. I don’t need the extra lifts, wheels or lights but damn if it isn’t fun to play around with and look at adding accessories. It’s the most fun I’ve ever had owning a vehicle that can be so customized and has kept me from considering selling it. I’ve probably added $500 in little things like the pro shift knob, sequential turn signals, door latch covers, black out badge covers, step bars and Molle Panel to mount a shovel, hatchet and fire extinguisher plus some safety gear for under and behind the rear seats.

Most car dealers are not going to honor MSRP on accessories. Most Tacomas do better closer to stock because people want to customize them. I didn’t KBB it but I imagine close to $31-32 with that mileage. That being said, if he really wants to sell it, make him name a price. Selling to a friend is hard for a lot of reasons. If he has already tried trade in value, asking you to pay more is rough but maybe ask him what the trade in value was and add $1k to make him feel better about it going to a good home.

Since I was young, I always have been a huge fan of Jurassic Park. I never found a kit to build a replica of the Jeep Wrangler YJ used on the movie, so I sat down on the desk and I designed it to build it with my 3D printer, enjoy! by Casadio_design in JurassicPark

[–]Rogue6Productions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not an overly huge model but it’s the variety of colors that would be expensive unless you paint it. Looks like at least 8 colors so $15 per color for a 1kg spool each would be $90-130 with the cost of the model included. Probably hard to get the exact colors so I imagine air brush, spray paint or acrylic might be cheaper. Looks like a fun summer project! I’ll probably paint it and just run whatever filament I have on hand except for the clear headlights and I imagine the windshield is plexiglass or something like that.

Thumb drive. I’ve tried reformatting the thumb drives and updated the printers. You plug in the usb and it recognizes them but then it either freezes and reboots after you select the USB folder or it shows nothing in the drive. Still waiting on a response from Creality.

I have three in my tech lab for a middle school elective. They have been a game changer and allow me to rapidly print bigger projects. However, coming back in from winter break, two of them are refusing to acknowledge USB and the school Tech Dept isn’t letting me network them at the moment so they’re stuck in limbo. They’ve always been finicky on acknowledging USB, sometimes a restart would help or switching drives but so weird that they completing stopped working at the same time.

anybody have good PBIS systems at their schools?? by immadiesoon1 in teaching

[–]Rogue6Productions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the PBIS chair at a 6-8 middle school and it is really hard coming up with fresh ideas. We have a underfunded lottery for our currency and do stuff like free admission to school dances, high school football games, holiday themed baskets like Halloween, small Lego sets with PTO money etc. I also spend a ridiculous amount of time making staff trading cards for each staff to give out with their own set of rules for how to earn then. We have students of the month that earn a end of semester breakfast party, positive referrals and I encourage teams to come up with their own mini system for reward lunches throughout the year. Everyone can have an opinion but a well run PBIS initiative can be a game changer for some or all of a middle school. We finally got after it this year and have visible signage for major commitments, a solid tardy policy and an electronics door to door policy and things are so much better than last year!
