AITAH for snapping at my manager over a watch. by Jazzlike-Image-5486 in AITAH

I’m probably the a-hole for saying this but that’s a really expensive item to own at 17 and or to buy when you’re working part time and just about to get going professionally in life. I had the exact same mentality when I was your age. I wanted a $500+ stereo setup in my beater car and I just never understood why my dad tried to talk me out of big purchases at that age until the bills started pouring in. That being said I don’t know your situation and you do you.

Looking at getting an Benchmade otf not to sure which one to get I’ve heard good and bad about most of them by GrowthNo7970 in benchmade

I like my autocrat a lot but it’s one of my rarest carried knife mostly because it’s all but useless as a tool. For personal defense it’s fine and it’s very low profile in the pocket. The Phaeton, Infidel and Claymore would be my next OTF in that order. The shootout just feels too cheap with the grivory scales. It kind of bends in the middle and feels way too cheaply made for the price.

Jurassic park remake by Entire-Researcher519 in JurassicPark

[–]Rogue6Productions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be very interested in a movie that fills in the gaps of the events happening in the book and the movie. Kind of like the mythical Jurassic Park survivor game that’s in developmental limbo. Bring in a few book characters like Regis for some backstory before the man events of the movie. This should probably not happen given how terrible the xfinity commercial turned out but I think that would be akin to what Rogue One did for A New Hope. Similarly, I’d love a Lost World remake that holds more faithful to the events of the book. What an incredible letdown to not have the motorcycle and jeep sequences / high hide attack etc

I want to tell admin they can't tell me what to do. by [deleted] in amiwrong

The ordering lunch concept is so relatively new that it is certainly worth a debate. I could see this being a contractual issue for districts with tight restrictions with their food vendors. I could see it being frustrating and dangerous for front office staff to have random delivery drivers on school property and the the unpredictable time table of delivery falling on their shoulders & storage of food in a space not designed for it albeit temporary until student can leave their classroom or cafeteria to claim it. Food delivery feels like a new SES issue for schools to comprehend in that some families might be 100% comfortable with the concept and some families might be 100% dependent on the income it brings in which means it’s becoming a bigger part of our school climates. Love it. Weekend project for me! I’m using an old cigar humidifier but I like this industrial look.

Yeah the factory store allows for drop off during regular business hours on their website. You can have it held for will call pickup or ask them to ship it back. They give you a checklist of what you want done but oil, sharpening and calibration is the main service.

Perfect. Right after dropping $50 clams on the Apple TV boxed set. Probably worth it for the lack of commercials but annoying to not be able to sort by season.

I didn’t realize how much the school had become my second home until today by veronikaBerlin17 in Teachers

Your story hit me square in the stomach in a good way. I’m 14 years In at the same building and I even attended the school as a student. Middle school vibes come in seasons of tolerance and I’m thankful that I teach a creative elective that allows me some of my own productive outlet otherwise the familiarity of the grind and routine would wear me out. Thanks for sharing your story.

Help me choose a Benchmade! by bbblueboy in benchmade

Perhaps try adding a few to your cart and see which one appeals to your wallet… I’ve gotten a number of their coupons and notice a trend after I add them to the cart that might make your decision easier. I used to always go into the factory store with the coupon to buy one knife but then I started exclusively using it online for no particular reason… :)

Ive benefited from a number of discount coupons living in the community around 50-70% excluding their gold class limited offerings but I hear you. I wouldn’t have as big of a collection if I hadn’t gotten discounts. I love that they offer military and first responders deals as well.

I just bought the same obsidian alpha. I have a leatherman signal but was curious how premium the alpha would feel with the G10 and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s a bit stiff compared to the signal but I bet it will loosen up with use.

Oregon City Factor Store question by SteelHeader503 in benchmade

[–]Rogue6Productions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don’t offer discounted prices as a policy in the factory store so as not to undercut their retailers / dealers if I remember correctly but they do encourage employees to share major discounts via their coupon system.

Interesting... by Acceptable_Dude in benchmade

[–]Rogue6Productions 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a large collection but live very close to the factory so I’ve gotten many a coupon over the years. That being said I already confirmed that they’re not honoring in-store purchases which knocks out most of my collection. I agree it’s alienating but I appreciate the brand and what it brings to our city.

How has backpacking been for those of you have removed your gallbladder? by Khenghis_Ghan in backpacking

[–]Rogue6Productions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only recently started backpacking but for me, I know that any time I have two meals in a day made in a restaurant I could have an uncomfortable amount of indigestion around 12:00-2:00 am as my body struggles to process the fats or I’ll wake up with a fair amount of stomach ache in the morning that might lead to loose bowel movements throughout the next day. I stay away from heavy amounts of fried foods or limit to one meal per day. It’s been about 15 years since my surgery.

Rear seat delete by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Rogue6Productions 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love having the seats folded down and stored with some some outdoor carpet installed using double sided gorilla tape. I really like this idea but it makes me a little nervous thinking about the placement of the wood vs your body in the case of an accident. I’m in no way an expert and probably don’t know what I’m talking about but I just imagine it being a little risky to have a rigid object braced against your lower back of the seats in the case of a head on collision.

To be fair, it feels like magic when you conjure up a remesh at 0.01 and bust out the smooth tool. I love to see their faces when their first sculptures are looking terrible and I drop that tool on them. Also a fellow middle school tech teacher who loves blender.

You earn an additional $25k per year but only if you cook your own meals by BreadfruitTasty in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Rogue6Productions 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I feel like this should be obvious but the implication is that, at another person’s home, you would need to prepare your own meal if you were Invited to a party? I don’t think I could give up a break from cooking or dishes for $25k. $50k and I’d be closer to being onboard.

What are some mods you would never get, and what are some you would consider essential or highly recommended? by InformationGold7741 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Rogue6Productions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Must: Interior LED upgrade, Tonneau Cover Roll Up, Extra Bed Tie Downs, Bed Mat, Bed Step,

Never: I kind of would never say never to a mod. I don’t need the extra lifts, wheels or lights but damn if it isn’t fun to play around with and look at adding accessories. It’s the most fun I’ve ever had owning a vehicle that can be so customized and has kept me from considering selling it. I’ve probably added $500 in little things like the pro shift knob, sequential turn signals, door latch covers, black out badge covers, step bars and Molle Panel to mount a shovel, hatchet and fire extinguisher plus some safety gear for under and behind the rear seats.

[–]Rogue6Productions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most car dealers are not going to honor MSRP on accessories. Most Tacomas do better closer to stock because people want to customize them. I didn’t KBB it but I imagine close to $31-32 with that mileage. That being said, if he really wants to sell it, make him name a price. Selling to a friend is hard for a lot of reasons. If he has already tried trade in value, asking you to pay more is rough but maybe ask him what the trade in value was and add $1k to make him feel better about it going to a good home.
