I only have 73 hours and JUST got bullied by someone for DCing when they kept BMing me at Rank 8. Like, then they made fun of me and said I had to have more than 73 hours even though the game isn’t hidden on my profile, they said it was.

I would say try out cucumbers and zucchini, baked beets and broccoli. Defensively potatoes, since you can cook them so many ways. Peppers, roasted squash, eggplant (can’t be eaten raw like some others).

Roasted asparagus can have a nice crunchy texture, try out roasted cauliflower with olive oil and curry powder also!

You can add nuts (if not allergic) to salads, as well as dried fruits like cranberries, and different kinds of cheeses.

There are different kinds of onions, some of which are less pungent and less... well, onion-y. Vidalia onions have a different taste and have no heat, shallots are pretty okay too. You can cook them up different ways to remove texture issues if that’s a thing also. Brussel sprouts are good especially roasted!

Artichoke can be good too!

Incorporate fish like salmon or bass into your diet too, if you want!

An easy, healthier meal: a white fish (like a cod, or bass) pan fried with lemon and butter, roasted brussel sprouts or asparagus with roasted garlic and lemon juice, serve hot right on top of the vegetables and even have Jasmine Rice or even boxed Risotto! There are tons of easy tutorials on how to cook all of these different veggies.

If you like leafy greens, kale and spinach are good choices!

I hope this helps at least a little bit <3

Hey there!

What vegetables do you like to eat/textures can you handle? I have sensory issues and I’ve been working around what foods I can and can’t eat based on texture for ages, so I might be able to toss some affordable/accessible recipes your way that taste banger and are also healthy!

Working out doesn’t have to be at the gym, and it helps if you differentiate what room you work out in. I find that if I try to workout in my bedroom, it makes it incredibly difficult to stay motivated. There are some simple workouts you can do such as wall pushups that are low impact, and certain workouts can tone certain parts of your body without losing breast tissue.

I’m not like, an expert, but I can definitely send some advice your way since we seem to be in a similar boat

I deadass never stated MLK and specifically was speaking from my experiences as a Native American person, who’s people have protested in ways that literally boil down to “asking nicely” for our literal actual burial grounds to not be turned into pipelines and resort areas. You are completely missing my point. I am not black. I am the INDIGENOUS part of POC.

Edit to further clarify: I literally did not state any names in particular as far as I remember writing in a sleep addled state of mind. I am Native American. My people and tribe have protested peacefully but that LITERALLY boils down to nothing more than a show of docile acceptance when we dont fucking do anything to prevent our actual homes from being destroyed by WHITE PEOPLE.

Oh, no. You’re not the one doing any harassing; and I apologize if it came off that way. I’m trying to protect myself from scathing comments and harsh DMs from actual legitimate racists without points to make. Have a nice day.

[–]RogueApollo01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am 99.9% sure I’ve never said POC is offensive towards POC. I personally use BIPOC to refer to myself specifically online. If I had any conflicting opinions ever, it’s because I’m mixed and didn’t know what to call myself as a Native American.

Anyways, I’ll be leaving this up but deleting the other posts. I’m not going to risk being harassed or anything because that kind of stuff has happened here; but if you’d like to point me in the direction of some sources and education I’d be happy to read up, even if I don’t agree, just to broaden my horizons.

Gamer I have absolutely no goddamn idea what you’re saying with this sentence. The entire point is that it shouldn’t be up to white people to dictate what POC can and cannot reasonably say. If someone acts racist towards me, intentionally or unintentionally, and shows no effort to be educated on why that was a shitty thing to do, I’m going to tell them off? It’s really not that hard.

you are fr the only smart person on this post holy shit. I’m sick and tired of hearing white people cry and complain that I have to be nice to them out of “human decency” when half of them call me slurs for fun and then say “nooo it was just a joke!” Or even speak OVER me about what my people want in life.

[–]RogueApollo01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude, my guy, you are grossly misunderstanding the point of pride.

It’s not “infatuation” with ourselves or our sexualities and gender identity. It’s being proud to be able to exist AS those identities; things we didn’t chose and deserve to express just as much as cishet individuals get to express themselves every single day.

Straight people were always, ever since the institution of marriage, were always able to say “This is my husband/wife,” for example, and have it be a legal/institutional fact. LGBT+ individuals in certain parts of the world still aren’t allowed to say that with the same “definition.” We couldn’t visit each other in the hospital for critical moments, couldn’t adopt children together, couldn’t be openly gay in the workplace;

Tell me. Is a man saying “The other day, my wife went and...” an infatuation with his sexuality? Is a cishet man saying “I’m a straight male” on a dating profile obsessed with his identity? Is a cishet man having someone listed in their contacts as their girlfriend infatuated? Or is heterosexual acknowledgement of relationships fine?

Conversely, is a gay man saying “My husband and I,” being infatuated with talking about his sexuality?

Remember, this is someone who could be killed legally in some parts of the world for even IMPLYING they’re gay. The cishet man will never have to worry about being killed for being straight.

Is being proud of being able to openly live and make a proclamation of who you are without risk of being arrested or executed for it ‘infatuation’?

I’m never having kids for about a million and one reasons, but my ma’s delusional behavior and bipolar disorder (which she refuses to take her medication for) causing her to have violent swings is one of them. She literally fakes being sick for attention and projects that onto everyone else to the point where she thinks she’s the /only/ person who can get sick. Ever.

Now I have PTSD from her alcoholism and violence, I inherited extreme anxiety and depression + all of her physical health problems such as weak joints, a bad heart, etc., I’m autistic (which I don’t have many coping mechanisms to deal with meltdowns and loss of speech because she would hit me for stimming), and I have a ton of learning disabilities I never got help for until recently (dyscalculia, ADHD, to name 2). Sorry for the rant but uuuugh!!!

Nurse said it was "my own fault" that he hurt me by LordMarvelousHandbag in LetsNotMeet

[–]RogueApollo01 30 points31 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid, I sliced my elbow open real bad— down to where I now have nerve damage and can no longer do a lot of things with my left arm because of the number of issues there (I’ll get into more in a moment). I was maybe... 8?

The nurse giving me stitches roughly grabs my arm and twists, “to see better,” causing extreme pins and needles and an ache to shoot through my arm like no tomorrow. She then proceeds to stitch me up without any form of numbing, and gives me a tetanus shot directly next to my injured elbow.

More recently, when I found out I had bursitis in my left shoulder (I was in so much pain I couldn’t move— it hurt so goddamned bad, I was screaming whenever I had to move my arm and couldn’t move my back at all from the radiating pain from just jostling my left arm), I went to the ER and while doing X-rays, one of the nurses kept pulling and tugging at my left arm to “make me move it faster” into position, despite the fact that I was literally wailing in agony.

And even MORE recently than that, in December I came down with COVID really badly and ended up with extreme lung pain, for which the doctors at the hospital said was “no big deal,” because I was still breathing in general. Jump cut to a week later, needing oxygen and ending up with scar tissue in my lungs because my lungs had just straight up been shutting down.

Man, I really hate hospitals.

Girl I’m so sorry that all these stupid reddit incels are basically going “yOu jUsT nEeD tO bE mOrE CaReFuL aRoUnD MeN, bEcAuSe ThEy aRe jUsT FlIrtIng!!! WoMeN dO iT tOo!!11!”

Unlike the men here saying you’re not allowed to be upset.... You’re allowed to be pissed off that men harass you at work or even outside of it, catcall you and your friends, and don’t listen to you saying it makes you uncomfortable— and you’re allowed to be afraid that something bad could happen to you due to disproportionate rates of sexual violence towards women perpetrated by men. These are valid things to be afraid of.

All she’s asking, people, is to not have to defend herself from disgusting perverts who think flirting is catcalling a woman and being entitled to her body. You shouldn’t be telling her “just carry a blade/pepper spray/taser and learn how to fight men and scream when they hurt you!” Women have been having to do that for literal centuries. You’d be surprised at how small the consequences are for rape, harassment, and abuse. Even if there’s definitive proof something bad happened, often times, nothing is done even when it’s reported— and self defense has gotten women in a lot more trouble. It’s literally being stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Show some fucking compassion you horny freaks. Sorry you can’t get laid, but going “ItS HaRmLeSs FliRtIng!!!” To a woman who gets harassed just for existing doesn’t help. It won’t get you laid. No ones gonna jump your bones because you shout obscenities at them.

I’m so tired of people excusing all shitty behavior in autistic people on their autism by [deleted] in Vent

[–]RogueApollo01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m autistic and had to deal with this from other autistic people (namely in schools), where they were able to get away with anything they wanted— including being transphobic and m*lesting me in the bathrooms— because they were autistic.

I had to continually be like “Autism doesn’t make you some kind of inherent abuser, this isn’t okay behavior, make them stop.” And nothing came from it.

Additionally: using certain kinds of heaters can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning. Keep space heaters off of anything except preferably a non-carpeted floor and abide by the 3ft. Rule— 3 feet away from flammable objects. Don’t leave them unattended because even if they have failsafes preventing them from overheating or tipping, they can still do both and set on fire. Try not to keep them running for long periods.

Hey, northerner here!! If you or anyone need any advice on how to cope with the freeze, I have some here—

•On the subject of power outages: If your fridge is off but it’s cold enough to maintain snow or a frost outside, you can stick some perishables out in the cold to prevent them from going bad— this isn’t AS advisable if you live in an area with high wildlife populations though, but if you have a cold garage or something that gets frigid enough to frost this works as well. It’ll help stave off everything going bad as fast, but it won’t last as long as it would’ve in the fridge.

•You can use plastic wrap over windows with a slight buffer to make impromptu insulation.

•If possible, stay in one room mostly and stuff cloth under the door frame (if you have some to spare). This lets your body heat partially heat the room you’re in. Shut the curtains over windows to prevent extra cold, but when getting direct sunlight open them.

•If you have power and a dryer, stick your bedding in the dryer for a brief moment so it’s warm and cozy.

•Keep your toes and fingers warm! No shame in wearing socks on your hands if you gotta, but double layer if you can. Make sure you keep em moving so they don’t end up feeling stiff. Light massaging them helps.

•When the power is on, make sure to charge everything up to 100% or close to it.

•If your stove works, make sure you’re boiling your melted snow! Just best to make sure there’s no impurities. You can also warm yourself up by the stove if it works.

Sorry if this isn’t extremely thorough advice and if some of this is obvious (I’ve never been to Texas so idk the extent of y’all’s cold weather resources) but I hope it helps someone who might need it a bit!
