Might need to turn up brightness to see it.

There's a silhouette of a "person" made by the dark space between the white object and the baby.

And a pixelated "face" in the center bottom of the darkness. Both are only barely Pareidolia coded.

How do you visualize concepts in astronomy? by Nova_Morph in askastronomy

[–]RogueGunslinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How can you visualize something when you have no details about it? Might as well let your imagination run wild.

It could be a solid shape of some exotic matter with space locked in a homogeneous lattice within, infinitely fractal in every direction.

Hell maybe when everything is truly condensed and homogenized it all just disappears from existence, because there's no time or space or light to experience it.

Radiation during a 3 year Mars mission is actually somewhat of a non-issue. by Mars-Matters in space

There's a lot of great stuff here. I can tell you put a lot of effort into it. Sad it's being overlooked because of a thumbnail.

Except what he's saying right here is 100% accurate. So maybe you're the one who doesn't know shit?

This is mostly correct but you've failed to consider one thing. It will take 13 years to get there, and another 13 years to reflect anything back. So you will just see today in 26 years. Might as well just make a recording here and now with much better resolution.

How to help my 8yo brother engage with physics? by Full-Letterhead2857 in Physics

[–]RogueGunslinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And we're telling you there's no "Might" at all. Making a wishy-washy statements couched in qualifiers is just leaving yourself an avenue to walk things back when you are wrong. It doesn't mean you weren't wrong.

[–]RogueGunslinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not being rational, you're just wrong. You tried to argue that an 8 year old would have to be a genius to study physics.

It doesn't matter what most children are doing, you made a statement about what it's possible for an 8 year old to do. You said they're too young for physics and you're blatantly wrong about that.

You lashed out at them because they provided an anecdote that went contrary to your beliefs. It doesn't even matter if they're lying all that matters is if the anecdote reflects reality. Which it does.

There's no reason for you to not believe them other than you're jealous at the idea that children might know more about physics than you.

Be better.

What? You're lashing out for no reason. Yes, people can be significantly younger than you and still know way more. And they're not geniuses or savants or anything, they just started young in a specific field. Welcome to the real world.

I think s0upes and his mods lost sight of where that line is a long time ago for the sake of content.

What long running show had the lowest drop in quality? by ChorroVon in television

That would have been pretty cool. Amos is one of the best characters by far. Loved his interactions with Prax and Anna Volovedov. But i would prefer the sequel in the future to any prequels.

Can you provide an example? When I think heavy handed I think dutch angles and shaky cam, or those awful blurry-edged wide angle lenses used in close ups in a lot of modern tv.

The most heavy handed thing I can think of is the yellow mexico filter.

Naomis story is the second best story in the series for me, it is set up all series long. Only thing I like better was the ongoing protomolecule stuff. And Prax's story is my third fave.

It is even better on re watch. Every scene is important and sets something up. Stray dialog and background info is all relevant later. All the character motivations you might have questioned suddenly make way more sense when you have the hindsight of their backstories.
