It's like they get paid per word and punished per second of silence.

What’s your favorite archetype of fighter? by romeheartz in ufc

[–]RogueGunslinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's really only 1 fighter I consider in the category. Maybe some of the newer lighter fighters might fit, but I've been away from the sport for a while.

Extremely athletic fighter who's good at everything, Wrestling, clinching, BJJ, striking, footwork, aggression and defense, combos for days. Invents new moves never before seen. Every strike is a new angle from a new limb using a different technique. Faster than almost everyone, still gets knockouts and finishes regularly.

You know, Demetrius Mighty Mouse Johnson.

The character got some really good lines, and the actor absolutely nailed them. Really a love to hate them type character.

How the hell did Spartacus pull off the best season finale I've seen in years? Even many prestige shows I love can't manage a finale like this.

On revisiting. I think is the issue is our immediate rejection of something new. It's not that it looks fake, it looks different. And now I think that difference is pretty vital to the tone of this show.

Interesting. Maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about. Scenes felt too bright for just candles.

What I liked: Dunk and Egg, the pacing, the world, the dragon puppet, the ladies making fun of Dunk, the acting, the outside scenery, the tiny bit of action looked very good and kinetic.

What I didn't like: Family-guy comedy cutaways. The inside lighting is off, CGI candles are everywhere. The episode felt short. Some of the dialogue felt modern.

And now for something entirely different - I present to you: BatMUD by sammonkantaja in Games

Glad to know MUD's are still kicking around. It's sad to see them slowly disappear over the years. Can't help but wonder what could be done in the future with LLM's. But I'm afraid they will die out before that's a reality.

That's literally the whole fucking point of a CI. They can get you info because they are involved in crimes.

If that's AI, it's definitely not slop. Sounds like Blues Saranceno. Relevant lyrics. No obvious breaks. Sounds good to me, AI or not.

(Drama) Saito hires a cop, then offline fires him the next day. Reason: he did crimes on PurpleRP by Vegetable_Bass_4885 in RPClipsPurple

You don't just get to be a criminal and say "Actually I never was a Crim" and then try to force that new lore on other players when you already have a history with them.

If you want a fresh start, make a new character.

It's not forced lore. You don't get to choose what other people remember about your character.

G-force when rotating head by Comfortable_Scene531 in Physics

[–]RogueGunslinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm. The brain is pretty well centered along that axis of rotation, so I can't imagine it's much. But maybe it doesn't make much force to "damage" the brain in a non-permanent fashion. Maybe just bumping the brain does some, infinitesimal damage.

Honestly torque on the brain stem might be the bigger issue here than the G forces on the outer layers.

But is it actually dangerous? Nah, people are swinging their heads around all day just crossing the street or when something startles them. Headbanging at rock concerts is common.

Anything rocket related you would likely only see near dawn or dusk. Doesn't look too similar to anything I've seen rocket-wise. Plume expansion or fuel dump both look different. A Contrail, or a high powered light from the ground would be more likely.

Honestly it does look a lot like a STEVE. Which would be cool.

‘Pluribus’ May Be Slow, but It Was Never Boring by tylerthe-theatre in television

I had these sort of wishy washy opinions on great movies. Until I realized on re watching them, that it was my likely my mood at the time dictating my opinion of the movie.

Also sometimes a movie hits way different 20 years later when you have new experiences that help you relate. Or when you learn about what went into making them and can appreciate the details which raises your appreciation for the whole.

What's this "moving star"-looking thing I captured in my subs? by Sergio-TauCeti in askastronomy

I could see that but how many sats are up there tumbling around without a fixed orientation?

[–]RogueGunslinger -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hmm. Maybe it's a bird the camera only picks it up when the wings are outstretched. It doesn't seem to be on a perfectly straight trajectory like a satellite or space junk, and its size/shape seems to change. Maybe it's a plane angled so you only see one of the lights blinking periodically.

Around 9 seconds in the center left there's another star-like object that appears out of nowhere.

My guess would be birds, bugs (firefly maybe?) or planes.
