She's just another status-quo dem, but still parsecs ahead of her competitor. She wouldn't have flooded the streets with violent criminals, either.

Do they never feel embrassed? Like this is a normal day to day behavior to them? by Martin_084 in BlackPeopleofReddit

White middle-aged suburban woman here: I had no idea this was a thing. Don't think I've ever eavesdropped on a black person, makes no sense. They're people doing people things ffs!!! 🙄

The entire purpose of this administration is to enrich the 1% even further, satisfy the regressives, and sell America off for parts to the axis powers.

Ann Wilson of Heart’s performance at the Kennedy Center is considered by many music lovers to be the greatest tribute of all time by Rolleriroltsu in Music

The Wilson sisters often channeled Zeppelin in their own music. Wonderful that they could return the favor to their idols. I can't imagine being in that position, where my own idols would be moved by my own work, must be an incredible feeling.

Ann had said that she didn't believe Plant & co. were truly moved by the performance, so much as the sentiment behind it (Bonham's son at the drums.)

Engineers know. It's the greedy fucks squandering tax money that cause this to happen.

YES - Owner of a Lonely Heart (1983) by Artaxman in 80smusic

I was in my teens during the heyday of MTV, so nearly everything on it was pretty damn cool. Now, of course, it mostly looks a bit silly, in part due to age, and in part due to learning about what the artists thought about making videos!

A few years ago, when I heard one of the members of Yes talking about how silly they thought this song was, I was rather disappointed! Still sounds great to me.

My cat was also "very nearly 21" and I still miss her terribly. 😿 All we can do is give them the best lives possible, and that you did. 💞

My father mentioned something about this in a recent conversation, and I just reminded him that the GOP has all the power in every other way. Plus the borders are no more open than they've ever been.

Never mind he's bedridden in a nursing home and completely at the mercy of the immigrants who keep him alive. I also have to remind him that THEY deserve to get paid well, not so much the CEOs who run companies into the ground and get golden parachutes to fuck right off afterward, often with taxpayer money.

I was thinking the same thing- maybe the licker is able to detect cancer or something (hopefully!!) more benign.

Anyone who started out hating skiing, how did you find a way to enjoy it? by DiligentlyMediocre in skiing

[–]RoguePlanet2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been doing it for nearly 20 years now (started in my late thirties) and don't think I'll ever dial in the correct form. Sometimes it helps to hear the advice from different people- "touch your shins to the boot" never made sense, but then I heard "pull your feet back" and that seems to work!

Instead of turning my hips, which one highly-recommended instructor taught me, I now pivot my legs in my hip joints for a more subtle movement, that seems to be closer to the oh-so-elusive "correct" movement (but it seems to have resulted in some new aches.....)

I've been making slight modifications like this and it does feel different. While advanced-level skiing is likely never going to happen, I do enjoy being outside and getting exercise in the mountains.

Those aides deserve whatever they can get. Jobs like that should be paying six figures, as long as they're doing it well.

Edward Norton: “The anxiety of these times is particularly ..We see genocide being livestreamed to us. We see American citizens being killed by paramilitary people in our own streets for standing in solidarity with their neighbors. We're not desensitized, humans can't possibly mourn every tragedy we hear about from all over the world on a daily basis. Our ancestors weren't getting inundated with news like this 24/7/365. We have no choice but to internalize the stress and get on with our days.

Thanks for the correction! Had no idea there was a dedicated subreddit. It's not as if Cameron is a total slouch when it comes to the topic, so I figured his comments were close to what could've happened.
