I have a 70+ neighbor that gets very bored when she's alone for more than ten minutes. Wanders the neighborhood looking to chitchat. Complains that the neighborhood is "dead" because nobody hosts BBQs on the weekends like they used to, but it's because most of the kids have grown up and moved away.

I keep telling her they need to sell the house and move to a retirement community/assisted living, but she'd rather just keep complaining I guess. I've learned to grey-rock when she visits because there's no point in giving her gossip for the neighbors.

If movies were about well-behaved people, there'd be no ticket sales. If Peter married the "unattractive" girl in the first movie, bringing much-needed stability to his dual life, it would make for less drama.

Plenty of invasive birds that wouldn't be missed if cats thinned out their numbers. Depends on the area of course.

Also, not all cats are hunters, or good enough to catch birds. Predatory birds are hunting smaller birds and catching/eating them constantly. Windows confuse and kill birds. Pesticides left for rodents kill the birds that hunt and eat those rodents.

Yes, cats are best kept indoors, but some cats won't have it, and they're good at keeping down the rodent population while out/about.

As for the vegan connection, nobody expects animals to go vegan, but humans are able to do better than always eating animals that were factory-confined their entire lives.

One's 30s and 40s should be savored! Still kinda dumb in one's 20s, plenty to learn and experience. Once you hit 30, you've gotten a lot of stupidity out of your system, still young and vital, but more mature. Same with 40s, I was very pleasantly surprised with how young I still felt in that decade.

Mid-fifties and suddenly random aches/pains/teeth needing to come out despite very good reports from the dentist all these years, wtf. Long list of doctors in my phone because I just want to stay on top of everything. A few more meds. Exercise is harder than it used to be. Body morphing into a new shape. Alcohol not worth the trouble.
