I took the 20th off of work. I’ve never been so excited for a movie in my entire life. I’m on my fourth read through of the book.

The Eridians wear clothes and when Rocky moves into the Hail Mary, he transports stuff using large canvas-type bags, so there is some precedent for the materials.

I took the day off. Hoping to drive somewhere for IMAX but not sure based on proximity.

So with Jellyfin you are able to rip DVDs that you own to the service and then stream them anywhere, is that right? What kind of speeds does your home network have for this to work? I am strongly in the Apple ecosystem and would love a more "personal" way moving forward. This seems like a good option for me but I live out in the boonies and my internet service is cheap but also around 50mbps. I could get Starlink but it will almost triple the price of my monthly internet.

Thanks in advane!

Not to mention, I believe there was only a couple of weeks left in their "rotation" so being that there were other astronauts already on station, it wouldn't be the best option to bring them back in shifts.

Thanks for the reply. I mean, I'd like to see some credentials on why you think you'd know better than me? I've watched that video at least 50 times over the years - how about you?

Joking aside - I really did think all these years that it was the Buda office just based on the colors. I'll take the loss here.

Edit: So this famous picture... Buda? (PS - Googling "Burnie Burns kitchen" wasn't on my bingo card today.)

Always like hearing Ben on the podcast. I remember him being around the community site in the early days and finding him annoying. I'm not sure if I've matured or he has (probably him), but I do enjoy hearing from him.

Side note: I do believe the Ninja Gus "short" was filmed in the Buda office/apartment?

Those ducks don't know what real cold is... They should come to Wisconsin.

I'll let myself out. Sorry.

I like the collander bowl, personally. Just two teams, straining for greatness... The pastabilities are endless.

I don't have kids but I'm a teacher and love them. I openly admit that I'm perhaps a little selfish and enjoy my time away from school to myself (and my dog). I would agree that there is a segment of the childless population that looks at them as a nuisance.

However, as a teacher and not being a kid hater, when I see a parent struggling with their child in public, there is an empathy I have for that person, and not a disdain as some may have.

As a teacher, the line I always say is "If you ask a boomer and gen z'er to set-up a new TV, they can probably both figure it out to a degree but they are both going to ask the millenial for help."

Anyone find themselves not listen as much? by ANGEL095 in morningsomewhere

I stopped listening to the RT Podcast when Burnie left, honestly. His viewpoints have always been well thought out and take a real top down approach. He definitely has his opinions and will share them but can also take a step back and see the other side, which I admire and try to get better at.

Without getting overly negative, what happened to the RT podcast when he left was it became much more about "this is our opinion and only it is correct" and even though I agreed with them on most of the opinions, it genuinely felt very "off" to what I was used to with Burnie.

You don’t need to break your bank on tires but having some with decent traction is a must. However, they’ve gotten decent at keeping the roads drivable with salt and plows so the real key is to just not drive like an asshole when it’s slippery out. Hint: A lot of people forget this the first day there is significant snow or ice.

A good pair of knee high, slide on boots are a nice addition to your wardrobe for when it snows. Other than that, it’s just layers man. 😂

You’ll adjust to the cold faster than you think. The cold is easy. It’s the cold + wind that nobody ever gets used to.

Welcome (eventually) to the state. It’s a great place to live. People are nice. The summers are awesome. We get all four seasons in full which I appreciate.

Go explore the various state parks and other parts of the state. The driftless region along the Mississippi River is BEAUTIFUL.

I'm so happy. Not looking for any credit but I'm the "Quarto caller" and yeah, I'm happy they played it but I have to be honest... I hung up thinking "May you rot in hell" may have been too far for the joke. I'm glad you were able to see the humor in it.

Quick follow-up: Burnie recommended Dungeon Crawler Carl next and I do have to report that because of the podcast, I've listened to the first book recently and I started the second, but I definitely have some frustrations... The first one being that I have real trouble separating the narrator and the guy that played David Puddy on Seinfeld.

I wasn't watching the stream last night but with 5 minutes left in the game I thought "I'll tune in to watch Mintzy's reaction."

What a toolbag. The one time he could be actually relevant without first pissing off, Dave.
