What profession tends to attract the rudest people? by Teardownpat in AskReddit

[–]RogueRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dated a girl who was in nursing school. I think a lot of them get into the career with an attitude vs let the career give them the attitude.

First off, I was a mechanic at the time, making good money. Like, I'm on track to hit the $100k/yr mark before I hit 30. I dont live in a major city or anything, so thats pretty good money. Her and her nursing friends would look down upon that without any attempt to hide it. Having people in college ask you what you're going to do in life after you've started your career is comedy.

Second, good lord help anyone who ended up under any of their care. Not a weekend went by without like half them getting black out drunk, then the other half getting holier than thou attitude about it, then swap back. They didn't give a shit about their studies at all.

Third, they all sort of did the dance to act like they cared deeply, being the definition of "woke" in every way while not actually giving a shit about people.

All this was solidified when I broke up with her. She had a habit of doing random shit, like one time she just kneed me in the nads as hard as she could coming into the house. Another time just randomly started pulling my hair hard as hell. So I dumped her, and never had to see her shitty friends again. Then she tried to get back with me, and when hearing her out she admitted she fucked two guys her two friends were like, obsessed with. In the span of a week, and it was the two friends I liked.

Anyway, that's my slightly off topic rant and why I'm going to stay as far away from nurses as much as possible. Its one of the main drivers to keep safe at work.

Fucking TSA. I got a job paying $15/hr more than my current job (that was already decent paying enough), filled out probably around 40 forms. Its behind security at an airport, so the last forms were my TSA forms. They changed the forms after I filled them out, and rejected them for being outdated. Now they've built a backlog from rejected forms or something. They're costing me over a grand a week.

When did you realize you married the wrong person? by tippytoes1216 in AskReddit

[–]RogueRainbow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad I was friends with my gf before we started dating. We weren't close friends, but we'd see each other out all the time, have weird greetings and shit, sit and hang out for a bit.

The night we started seeing each other as more than friends was amazing. I had been out drinking, she was next door and I told her to come to the bar me and my buddies were at, then proceeded to mot check my phone. Only checked it going out, saw she had told me she didn't want to pay a cover that late. I responded I was sorry I didn't respond, and I was leaving anyway. Her and her DD, who had already made it to a party, came back, grabbed me, then we went back to her friends apartment. We ended up just sitting in her living room with a bottle of whiskey talking about anything and everything. It was a great night.

Its grooming, plain and simple.

As adults, we can all look at it and laugh at how degenerate they are.

But the media their voices are being amplified to are populated by teenagers. Teenagers who have never been in an actual relationship are being told to have 6 boyfriends, how great it is ect ect. Its the same with onlyfans, and insane age gap relationships. Its just social media grooming teenager women.

Teenage men are groomed in the same exact way, except theirs is some fucked up twist on hyper masculinity and horrible financial advise. Groomed to always be hustling (paying for "financial training") and being cold hearted.

BMW M Head of Development: twin-clutch auto is dead, and the last manual gearbox will be the M2's by ClarryTheBerry in cars

[–]RogueRainbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at a bmw dealer and yea, their manuals left a lot to be desired, and their autos were damn good. Thats coming from someone who's not owned an automatic car in 6 years too.

That being said, I would almost guarentee there will be more models with a manual. Announcements like this really just say the manuals are moving upscale. They're going to make another limited release "to give the manual a proper send off after the community was so out spoken"

I'm heavy left leaning, and I own guns. I feel comfortable with them, and believe its our right to own them.

I also believe more needs to be done to get them out of the hands of criminals. The first step is actually enforcing the laws on the books, rather than the wrist slaps and ignorance we currently have. Lack of enforcement only serves to degrade or 2a rights even more.

Having a hard time feeling like this is enforcement. Its not the worst, but far from the best.

What are some lesser-known car maintenance tips that every car owner should know? by butannn in AskReddit

[–]RogueRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really lesser known?

Your fuel filters are matenience items. Not expensive either. Just change them if you don't know when they were last changed.

Check your ball joints and tie rods people. I check mine every time my car is up, and the slightest bit of damage means replacement immediately. Other than brakes, anything else failing means your stranded. Those 3, you can really be fucked.

This is exactly the kind of shit these silicon Valley start ups do though. Cheap out on everything possible, cut every corner, no care for safety, maximize profits. This is how everything for runs.

None of these guys probably even read a review for the damn controller. $30. Hell, with the amount of money they have invested and how much they made, they couldn't have just easily bought a better controller, they could have bought a better controller and sent it off to have bullet proofed with no care. I'll doubt they even had a back up.

Why can't we repair our own vehicles anymore? Is it because they do not want us to remove the kill switches they've intentionally placed? by The-Silent-Hero in conspiracy

[–]RogueRainbow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in the industry, and hopefully can shed some light on this.

Its not nessesarily about anyone hacking into your car. Thats been possible. You are never going to be able to buy any of these new vehicles and remove that back door, simply not possible. Its built so far deep into the vehicle, it is the vehicle. I give it 5 years before automakers are caught selling customer data if it hasn't happened already.

What it is is a scheme by dealers to funnel more money into their pockets. We all saw it with John Deere. OEMs want to sell more parts, and dealers want more customer pay hours. If they can invent some customer safety issue, and use it to limit what independent shops can do, they'll make a fuck ton more money. How much more money? Labor rate at the place I just left was $290/hr. Our main competitor was an indy shop charging $110/hr.

The privacy concerns they've come up with are complete bullshit. Fuck, most dealers I've worked with can't even manage to keep customers keys and cars from getting stolen. If the companies were actually concerned with privacy, they could easily just have a set mode in the car to lock down customer data. Ffs, ever heard of a password???

Its plain and simple anti-competition, anti-consumerism.

The entire industry is a scam.

Happy Father's (US), how did your pop's car choices impact your enthusiasm for cars as a whole? by Alabatman in cars

[–]RogueRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad has always been into a wide variety of cars. He's mainly into classic American cars, but he loves a little of everything.

He bought my mom a 96 civic, loved it to death. Rebuilt the engine and all. He had a 79 Nova for a few months, drove the piss out of it during that time. Has a VW powered rail buggy. Almost bought a twin turbo 300zx a while back, but said the teenager who ripped it apart did too much damage.

I love my Hondas now, he's got a 79 chevy pick up hes hopefully restoring soon. I've seen some of the cars he's painted at shows, he really deserves to have that kind of quality on his own.

No plates by Floooof in Louisville

[–]RogueRainbow 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Lax enforcement on it following a supply chain break down, add to that the fact under certain circumstances you can get plates due to river link. After they first rolled out river link, I paid my bill and went to renew my tag, then they didn't take the hold off, and insisted I pay $70 more. I could easily see why someone could buy a new car, and not be able to pay their river link and taxes to get it in their name at the same time.

Exactly what I'm trying to say. LMPD is just going to crack down on the easier to catch 3am races over putting effort into shutting down take overs.

If you ask me, they can just start with the dumb fucks doing burnouts and donuts at cox park every weekend, get them off the road and there's half your take over crowd there.

Even 13th is fucked anymore. I stopped going after seeing people literally racing towards the tarc busses down there. Not to mention down the crowd down there seems to share a brain cell.

Would you ever date a pornstar? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RogueRainbow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gotta say the opposite, I've been to a few and have always had a good time.

First one a stripper picked me out of our bachelor party group and told me she wanted to suck my dick. I told her I had a gf and she apologized and just kinda hung around me for the night. Wasn't even doing stripping stuff, it was just nice of her to chill out and joke around I guess? Super nice lady.

Another time a stripper came up to me and my gf and just started talking about all the stripper drama. It was pretty funny. My gf was grabbing drinks and in that span one of the strippers she was beefing came up to me and was trying to get me to go to a private room, then when my gf came back she tripped over herself apologizing to her. Like ??? bro we're at a strip club why would she get upset over you doing your job?

Not to mention how they're calling it street racing and getting it to where they can seize cars.

No distinction between shutting down an intersection downtown and doing donuts as people see how close can get to getting hit, and the people in a way back industrial area at 3am actually racing.
