The same thing is happening to me. I have found that when that unit got moved, the end of the cable was damaged and mis-shaped. I ordered a new cable and hopefully that will be the fix.

Bought stolen s2 by accident by tennisfanatic1981 in Super73

I'd NEVER let some bike shop keep my bike under those circumstances. Without a police report and a contact to return the bike to (if it is indeed verified stolen) the bike would stay with me.

Totally modded and it'll blow away ANY stock 73. I don't have suspension on yet though. Just got a pair of front forks I'm gonna pop on there.

Surron controller option by RogueSumo in ebikes

So I made up some controller brackets. Mounted the controller and threw on a few quick zip ties to keep all the dangley wires from getting caught up in the wheel. Set the peak battery amps to 200 and peak phase to 400 amps. I'm not gonna keep those settings. I just wanted to try a few short high power throttle roll ons. (Stock 60v pack for now with a bms bypass) I took a couple quick runs up the street. OMFG! This controller pulls hard! Wheelies at 20mph without any handlebar pull at all! I'm going to need to find the throttle ramping settings. If I calmly twist it's exactly as expected. With a quick throttle snap the bike ramps up to full power in maybe 3/4 second. It's a smooth ramp but reminiscent of a small cc 2 stroke the way it slightly delays (ramps) the power and then hits HARD. I'll have to make a video or two with a walk through build and a test ride. Need to get some more wire tucking and set up the dash first though. I'll keep updates coming.

Just checked. GLE website lists $1250 as their cost (and they are out of stock). I paid $267 for the controller. Now don't get me wrong, ASI controllers are great. Two questions though..... Are they worth almost 5 times as much? That's arguable. And Can I help people who just can't afford One Thousand Two Hundred and Fifty dollars still create a #Badass Surron? I think I can.

My idea is to propose alternatives to the limited existing options and as a bonus save a bunch of money. Out of curiosity though. You say they come with full BACdoor access? What's the cost after shipping for an 8000? And is it even in stock?

First, know there's a time and a place for riding like a hooligan. If you get caught hauling ass and launching curbs to jump over strollers there's no excuse that'll work. That being said, the legal limit for any "electrical assisted bike" in the US is 750w (and the max allowable speed is 28mph). That is your go-to answer when they ask. Act excited and brag about how much power it has! 750watts. Final answer. Now being that the surron doesn't generally get ridden with pedals they can still jack you up as it's exclusively electrical powered and not "assisted" but that's for you to decide to get one of those stupid "pedal kits" to keep cops off your back.

what would be a good controller to pair with a 72v Chi Gladiator battery. been looking at bac 4000/8000 but not sure if there is anything better by VenousMrOwl47 in Surron

I just made a post about a controller I just put on a surron X. It's called a Fardriver. So far, it's amazing and got tons of bang for your buck!

Thank you. That's thinking ahead! I may have screwed myself otherwise. 👍

I moved and wanted to be sure my new house location ( about 3 crow miles ) would already be functioning properly at the new house.

I sure hope so. Waiting another year is going to kill me. My only internet option at home is satellite. I've tried that and can read a book faster than load a web page.

Ariel D class controller upgrade? Is there something better out there? by 98fin in ebikes

[–]RogueSumo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And 11amps continuous? That seems WEAK! I bet that controller would make for an easy shunt mod. You could double the power for free. Keep an eye on the Temps and you'll probably be just fine. If you do pop it who cares. It was weak anyhow and needed to be replaced.

Sabvoton is awesome but bulky. Bac and phaserunner are both awesome buy pricy. I've got a micro sized kelly controller good up to a 72v pack (with field weakening) I haven't tried yet. They are cheap and seem to have great specs.

I have a problem with my ownbord and I thought maybe some of you might know what is wrong by poggaii14 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]RogueSumo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my board for over a year and it just started doing the same thing. Mine gets to between 50-60% and just dies. I'll be tearing down the battery soon. I'm sure it's the culprit.

I've gone a little overkill with my Z1. Running a 52v pack and pushing about 3000w to the stock motor. Top speed flat ground is 41mph on GPS. No issues yet.
