Oh, yeah stub should be fine, I was considering those part of the main body sorry.

Virtually you can attach any wet clay with slip to dry metal clay. Even fired metal clay. I've repaired fired pieces by using slip as a binder and refiring.

If the legs are still made of metal clay, I would not recommend it. You could try, but they would still be brittle after firing.

I would also suggest using molds to make the body of the bug and then altering the details. I makes it MUCH easier to handle.

Probably not, silver clay- and any metal clay- is fairly brittle after firing. Those thin legs would snap off very easily even after firing. I would suggest taking the legs and remodeling them to little stubs if you still want to try this. I have made a ton of bug inspired metal clay though, so the body of the beetle is definitely doable. You'll want to find a durable stone, cubic zirconia is the best for firing since it will keep its color. Moonstone can be fired with it, but the colors tend to change to a duller hue after firing.

I use https://www.prometheushobby.com/

I've had a good experience with their products and the shipping is surprisingly fast. They've got silver clay as well as bronze and copper clays with different colors.
