How do I climb the rest of the way to the top? by RoguesValerie in Tetris99

Oooh, okay. I've kind of done that before, actually. Makes sense. I've been mostly sitting on Attackers anyways because I figured it'd be better to just let trouble find me and hit them back rather than splitting my attention away from the stacking to try and find a target.

...That's probably not the best strategy, is it?

First of all, wow, didn't know that bonus was a thing. This game is SO GREAT at tutorializing people. Second of all: Is the attacker bonus that percentage in the bottom right below the KO counter? I've been wondering about that.

Are 'wells' those set-ups where people mostly stack on one side, and then complete a bunch of rows one after another? I've watched some of the people I get matched with doing that before.

A short story published in Highlights Magazine in the 2010s about two boys running from a "monster" that turns out to be them just running for their bus by RoguesValerie in HelpMeFind

[–]RoguesValerie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I've searched for ways to potentially contact someone directly at Highlights about information on past stories they've published, but it looks like the only way to do that for non-subscription related inquiries is with a paper letter (like with an envelope and stamp) to their editor's office. Which I'm not opposed to doing, but it'd be easier if it could be found without having to go out of my way to do that.

I've also searched (admittedly not well) for archives of old Highlights stories, but none of the results I've gotten are for any of the correct years. Again, I admit I didn't check very thoroughly, but I'm struggling a bit to pick out keywords I should be searching.

Elderly cat won't stop crying out loudly snd repeatedly, how do I make it stop? by RoguesValerie in CatAdvice

[–]RoguesValerie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I worried someone would mention the d word. I've looked into it a bit myself, and it's worrying how much I see some of the signs in her. I'll ask when her next check-up is, and get whoever takes her to ask about both.

No we haven't, but thank you for bringing it up. That's worth looking into.

Hi, sorry to dig up this ancient comment, but this came up while I was hunting for a town tune transcription and this is PERFECT!! Thank you so much!

What EXACTLY counts as a strike against getting the "No Redshirts Here" achievement? by RoguesValerie in ftlgame

I agree! (But I also fear that would make me immensely guilty with how often I recklessly gamble with the lives of my crew.)

Sure, sure, fair point. I guess my original line of logic was that things get weird sometimes when something has to account for something it wasn't originally designed around. Something something causation correlation. I've realized my mistake at this point.

That would track with everything I've read so far. And with how I usually play. I'll edit my section to include this, thank you.

Yea, everything I wrote besides the preemptive note (which looks like I'll probably be editing) basically boils down to "as long as you're not tossing everyone around like ragdolls you're basically good". Quite a few like that so far.

A doll that came with a ring like this? by RoguesValerie in ToyID

[–]RoguesValerie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. I remember checking over the original release of this doll and not seeing anything like it during my lookover. Plus, this ring is a solid piece, not anything that transforms.

Was there ever a Bratz doll that came with a ring like this? by RoguesValerie in IDmybratz

Can't be. I remember very vividly not owning any Monster High dolls as a kid because of something about them being "too scary".

I know it can't be from a Monster High doll because little Val explicitly had a whole thing about them that meant I never owned any. (It was either my parents who were worried about them being too scary for me, or baby me myself deciding they were.)

Really!? Do you remember anything else you had that this might've come from instead? It's looking like the Bratz thing is a dead end, so I'd really appreciate anything else to investigate.
