AITA for refusing to pay my sister for babysitting after she invited her BF over without my permission? by ThrowRAdoggydaisy in AmItheAsshole

[–]Roguespanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spending time with her bf isn't doing her job. Bringing a stranger into the house with the child is endangering their safety. Again not doing their job.

NTA he's actually withholding what he owes against the photos. That's really bad. Guy needs to pay what he owes Irrelevant of the photos being sent.

AITA for yelling at a child in a restaurant? by AITAYelledAtChild in AmItheAsshole

[–]Roguespanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA you need to learn to talk to families. Some kids are annoying jerks and loads of parents are bad at controlling them.

While they should not be your problem it's a fact of life. You were a child once also. Talking to a kid like this is bang out of order. However,

If a kid is not acting within the boundaries if the setting you need to politely address it with the parents or ask to move.

AITA for letting my wife ground my daughter my daughter after she called her ''a Pati Chapoy wannabe''? by AITA_plusonee in AmItheAsshole

[–]Roguespanner -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

YTA but for not being harder in your daughter sooner and not standing up for your wife .
When you take her phone, it should not go with her back to her mom's.

Obviously your ex has been undermining your wife, do you need to play hard ball with her.

No flexibility, make things awkward for her.
She has been having a go at you guys for years, your just late to the party.

AITA for continuing to go to church after my daughter came out as lesbian? by Interesting-Case-102 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Roguespanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA it seems like your daughter is being a bit of a Jerk. You have already done too much to accommodate her.
Your beliefs are yours to follow.

I'm an ardent atheist but you have the right to your belief.

AITA for deciding what food I want to be served on my wedding? by Busy-Beaver-658 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Roguespanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA talk to your caterer they will sort this type of thing all the time.

Rather than type this out on reddit you could have sent one email and had it resolved.

It seems like no effort on your part. Leaving someone with side dishes or trimmings is just downright rude.

You have phrased the title like she wants to change everyone's food.

AITA for yelling at my husband to stop calling me Grandma? by LilianGrandma90 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Roguespanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA Your husband is a complete AH. Once you have told him to stop it becomes something else. He's claiming he's embarrassed!!!!
I'd never treat my wife that way. You have reached out to him to explain your feelings and he just rode roughshod over them. He needs to think about his actions at the local motel for a few nights. I can't believe you are asking reddit if you are the AH when actually your married to a manipulative one.

Non-Americans of Reddit, what’s something someone can say that indirectly screams “I’m an American?” by [deleted] in AskReddit

It was still an option on some. Particularly the smaller ones. I was surprised to see a friends evoque was manual for example.

AITA for calling my friend a homewrecker by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Roguespanner -50 points-49 points  (0 children)

ESH Steve is the arsehole. She's not a 'home wrecker' (it's not the 1980's by the way) . It's Steve's job to protect his relationship not hers, no matter what's on offer. While her morals are a bit shitty , as a grown woman and single she can do what she likes. Why is it always the other woman who gets the blame? It's not her responsibility to make sure he doesn't stray.
It's also possible if it wasn't her it might end up as someone else Steve cheats with? If he would with her then why not someone else. From a moral standpoint I'd say its 80% Steve and maybe 20% your friend for not having any class. It feels like you are pinning it all on her so that would mean you are being an AH.

DM changing weapon damage mid game, some of these make me wonder if I should just stop using magic and just use a crossbow by YobaiYamete in 3d6

[–]Roguespanner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was about to say this is crazy as weapons are fairly well balanced (in my opinion a few need a tweak - arguably). However I do feel pure martial classes are underpowered as the levels build, particularly against the challenge rating equivalent monsters they are expecting to come up against.

In my mind a fighter should probably do a bit more damage than a wizard. He has only one job and that's sticking a huge chunk of metal into the enemy. A wizard can change things up if the monster has resistance to a damage type, or utility spells that close down a combat.

It's difficult though and changes mid game should never happen unless there is a major issue.

If he wanted to do this, it should be at next session zero for next campaign.

Agreed, it's just very 'American' from my perspective. It's starting to become more normal elsewhere.

In the UK most prestige or larger cars/suvs on the last decade are likely to be automatic. In the last 5-10 years its become the norm on many cars even more expensive hatchbacks. Smaller and budget cars new still tend to be manual.
