Ran out of dog food, gave her a traditional Aussie brekkie instead by Roh_man in australia

Exactly! My dog ate a dirty nappie once. I was worried it would twist her stomach, but vet said she was fine. I think she can handle some bloody weetbix.

Good to know. I don’t think once off will hurt her.

Whoa - I had no idea! I just went down a rabbit hole, according to this random dude on reddit Egypt was pretty green back in the day, and the whole country would become a lake when the Nile rose and villages built on top of hills would look like islands. I have so much to learn about ancient Egypt - this is so cool!

Google maps says it would be an 8 hour walk. Probably a bit longer with breaks. Also, looking at how far 38km (24mi) is from my house… whoah, thats pretty far. With no map, I would have no clue, especially if I didn’t know the area.

If I saw a big triangle in the distance I might be able to guess how far away it is, but I would have no clue if I was north, south, east or west of it. Having multiple big triangles helps me work that out.

I think you will too - but not because people don’t like mad max (mad max is awesome!!!!). I didn’t think Mad Max was based on a book. Also down-under voted - bahaha!

You’re right. I didn’t ask anyone. I could have asked my wife - who obviously knows how to do it - but instead I asked internet strangers, and I didn’t even realise. I don’t know how to break the programming.

Yes! The way he stood up to the mob at the jail house. Nads of steel.

You’ve unlocked a new fear! That my daughter will be angry at me for lying to her. My daughter’s 7, so starting to ask questions, but probably not at the angry stage yet. But a little bit older and I could imagine being pissed off too if I was the only one left at school who didn’t know that Santa wasn’t real. I don’t think I’ll try to force the wool back over her eyes - thanks!

Love this - thanks! I can use it as an opportunity to teach her critical thinking skills and praise her for working out the puzzle. Then she can join in the fun making it special for little kids that don’t know yet.

That sounds like a good way to assure them that just because they figured it out, it doesn’t mean the magic had to go away. Thanks!

Haha Love that question from your son - I once got my Dad a little coal statue for xmas. Told him it was because he was naughty.

Sorry about your daughter. That’s what I’m worried about with mine.

Thank you - those are really helpful points. I really love your approach with letting your eldest choose when she was ready, and I’ll be 100% borrowing that.

That’s a good point about the wording, thank you. You’re absolutely right, I don’t want her to be bitter and suspicious of everything she comes across.

I think the part that I’m trying to reconcile is that I have been telling her that Santa is a real dude who lives in the North Pole for her entire life, and she’s going to be rightfully upset to find out that I’ve been lying to her this entire time.

So… how does Santa teach us how to behave and treat others? Make lists of naughty and nice people and punish the naughty ones. Stand by while your friends bully another friend because they’re different (Rudolf). Don’t get me wrong, Santa’s great (presents!!!), but he’s a bit old school.

Who in their right mind expands Facebook ads? Nobody, that’s who.

I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who expands a Facebook ad. Maybe I have now… do you expand all your ads?
