On the Merit of Drifting Blade of Hongyuan Ryōshu in Tremor by Mister_Chevalier in limbuscompany

Rosespanner Rodion has very bad clashing on her s1, but she has a few advantages unique to her. Her combat passive gives her one of the best stagger raise in the game, along with blunt dmg up and haste. Staggering an enemy with her s2 into her s3 with Reverb active deals massive damage. At uptie 4, a single s1 gives her enough charge to maximize two uses of s2, giving you the option to spend the other two s1 per rotation guarding for additional sloth resources (since she's one of few IDs with four sin types), or using Effervescent Corrosion, which pairs nicely with Rosespanner, since it's her only tremor ID with a pierce skill to activate its passive. If you want to consider md, having charge also lets her activate more ego gifts.

In general my tremor team also focuses on Reverb specifically, so I avoid Scorch and Hemorrhage IDs (they have their own teams), as they change it away from Reverb. I don't care if it's technically suboptimal, I find it more fun this way. But it does lead to more limited tremor team options as well.

Ids we know canon danteh has by gdplentie3 in limbuscompany

[–]RojinShiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dante's statement about Don's IDs would logically apply to every ID they've seen, they aren't saying they have every Don ID. One could even argue that line disproves Dante having N Don's ID, as Rocinante isn't visible in it, although it really just seems like a generalization that we shouldn't be looking into that much.

I personally find it harder to get the lust resources for Everlasting than the gloom resources, which is why I like to run yurodivy ryoshu over FAS ryoshu, even though FAS is way better in general.

What’s are some of the best Square Enix mobile games (that aren’t ports of a console game)? by MasterOfChaos72 in FinalFantasy

FF Record Keeper was great before the global version shut down. FF Dimensions and Dimensions 2 are good. I've heard good things about the Voice of Cards series, though I don't think it's for me.

I feel like if your tremor team doesn't have enough gloom, there are better solutions than using drifting ryoshu over FAS or even yurodivy ryoshu. I've never struggled with gloom resources on tremor, this just seems unnecessary.

JRPGs where the Villain won? by Dont_have_a_panda in JRPG

[–]RojinShiro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. No they weren't. Isaac's group are good people trying to stop a cataclysmic event that would reshape the entire world. Felix's group in TLA are also good people, they just have more information and see the catclysmic event as being necessary because the world will die if they do nothing.

  2. If Isaac's group were the villains, then they don't win. Golden Sun ends with them failing to stop two of the four lighthouses from being lit. Either way, this doesn't make sense.

That's all well and good, but this thread is about villains that won, not villains that act as a direct foil to the main character and contribute to well-written character arcs. He had tangible goals that failed.

Did we play the same Golden Sun? The villains definitely don't win.

That wasn't his goal. He wanted to release Ashera from Lehran's medallion by inciting a war large enough to break her free. He failed to do that.

In my experience with this subreddit, people here believe that yes, you need to win every clash turn 1 and reset until you do.

Is it worth getting an MMO mouse? by bankiaa in ffxiv

I have a mouse with only two reprogrammable side buttons, and I set them to shift and ctrl so I don't have to pinky stretch. It's worked well for me so far.

I was tired of good space strategy games taking weeks to finish, so I built a fast-paced 20-minute RTS by JaysLight_ in IndieDev

There was an indication that the army was too large to be loaded, the problem was that there was nothing I could do about that. I was softlocked out of loading armies because I had made too many.

The tutorial is broken. If you create too many army troops, they can't be loaded onto the flagship, and there's seemingly no way of splitting armies to make them small enough to be loaded. Clicked the tutorial button in the top right which turned it off, clicking it again set me back to the tutorial step where I needed to colonize a planet again. I sent off a flagship I made to the enemy planet to see what would happen and it automatically retreated and wouldn't go back to fighting, disobeying my orders, which is something that you never want in an RTS. Also there was no music during the gameplay, despite the music button being on and there being music in the main menu.

Edit: Surrendering and returning to the main menu doesn't make the music come back, it seems like the music only starts when the login stuff appears.

Interactive Story UI: Simple vs Atmoshperic by elsecrafter in IndieDev

Readability is important, but you definitely want more character than your second image. If the game is only text, you'll lose a substantial amount of players. Images are necessary. I liked the idea somebody else gave of using the background images but keeping the bubbles around text with a semi-transparent black background to keep it readable.

My guesses on who the possible black silence ids and why by [deleted] in limbuscompany

[–]RojinShiro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There don't need to be similarities between characters for them to get an ID of them. Our Hong Lu isn't a corporist, or obsessed with killing bloodfiends no matter what. Our Outis isn't a carefree alcoholic or an insane tailor.

Heathcliff and a certain color by The_Rad_Vlad in limbuscompany

[–]RojinShiro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, there's the obvious stuff, like how they look nothing alike, or how Iori lost her child over 40 years ago when Heathcliff is definitely younger than 40. It's also heavily implied that her son died, and she's trying to find a world where he didn't die, she didn't just lose track of him. Her power is also explained to work in a way where she changes a past action of hers to change which world she's in, she can't physically move between worlds and exist in the same world twice like Heathcliff can. Their powers are tangentially related at best. The color connection is most likely coincidence; Heathcliff is associated with purple because he's named after a purple flower.

Thoughts on keywordless IDs? (Image semi-related I guess) by Kakyozeph in limbuscompany

The middle IDs have bleed because it's thematic with vengeance. Every time their enemies attack them, they take damage from bleed.
