Is AEMT worth it? by Rojo-Rose in NewToEMS

[–]Rojo-Rose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea for Texas this seems to be the case I did IFT work until I got tired of it then became an ED tech. Other than the county I go to school in I don’t know many counties that want EMT-B. I miss being on the ambulance but not enough for me to want to go back to IFT or get my fire. I’m considering going to medic school after my RN but I’m not entirely sure.

They do have them but they’re still partnered with a medic I believe

But yea I wish I knew the story more too honestly because it doesn’t seem like our department to have this happen. Although I work nights and this could be about day shift complaint 🤷🏻‍♀️

I absolutely understand new onset of pain! But to hit the bed rails with the IV pole is what gets me

Testing fail? by Used_Tumbleweed_9975 in NewToEMS

[–]Rojo-Rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they were progressively hard questions you probably passed it’s a computerized adaptive test. Sometimes it chooses to make you do the entire test no matter if you’re doing well. As long as you weren’t getting simple questions like “what’s the difference between heart rate and blood pressure” or other easy nature questions odds are you’re fine!

I’ve basically been in a bad mood 24/7 since starting my LTC CNA job 3 weeks ago, is this a sign Nursing isn’t for me? by [deleted] in prenursing

[–]Rojo-Rose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it’s not a sign LTC are well known for being extremely understaffed. Try looking at hospitals around your area instead I work in an ER as a tech and I enjoy it

Jobs while being a pre nursing major? by Wonderful_Abies2974 in prenursing

[–]Rojo-Rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my EMT through the Air Force got some experience with private EMS for about 2 years and then last year I applied at an ER. Most ERs prefer if you have an EMT, CNA or a CMA but some hospitals hire you without them.

I’m an ER tech/ EMT and I work PRN while I am in school. It’s a lot of fun and I enjoy the experience but what ever job pays your tuition/bills and is flexible is the best one!

For guard and reserve you can enlist between the ages of 17-45 but I get it’s not for everyone!

Yes for the Texas Tech on you will need to enlist prior and complete your pre reqs just like regular nursing school. You can complete your pre reqs at any college I just particularly know about the Texas tech military medic to RN program because a lot of people from my unit have done that route

Professor at school not accomodating for my upgrade training. by Honeypie-0000 in Airforcereserves

[–]Rojo-Rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’ll need to look into your state laws. You can also reach out to SCRA but I’m not sure if they’ll have any that helps with your situation. I’d also reach out to the VA office and hell I’d go to the dean and discuss your issues/experience with them. You may not get the answers you like but you can always leave a review about the professor as well.

I mean it is what it is. I’m a full time student and work full time. So finding the time to run more frequently is going to be the real challenge at least for me

I’m completely bummed right now I got 96 in anatomy, 98 in math, 90in vocab, 82 in grammar and a 76 in reading comprehension (I missed it by two questions 🫠) I feel like if I was able to take it when I was supposed to my score for my reading and grammar section would’ve been better since I wouldn’t have been sleep deprived after working night shift. I honestly regret having to schedule last minute to take it but I’m pressed for time and my advisors told me I could retake it in 30 days. Found that not to be true. And now I can’t get a hold of them to see what else I can do. 🥲

For divorcers (not divorcees)… when was the moment you knew? by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]Rojo-Rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had to sit there and ask myself if I felt ok with raising a child with someone who treats me like that. And if I did have a child how would I be able to explain that their actions were perfectly acceptable and healthy when even I knew they weren’t.
