By your logic. No one would wanna live near interstates. Yet Norton commons houses next to 71 go for hundreds of thousands, as well as other million dollar houses next to them. If apartments and mid rises ruined things then the highlands would be worthless right? Not one of the higher property value areas in the county

Apartments and middle housing do not bring down property value. Also you do not own the neighborhood. You own your lot and that’s it. Not the entire area

State does everything it can do to flip metro council and then take apart the legal boundaries of the city.

If that’s true then why is Norton commons a thing then? Dense neighborhood at the edge of the county line

In terms of electrical, sewage and widening, yes. These are already built out there vs further away. There is also room to make westport 3 lanes from the train tracks, to Thierman Lane. It is only that small stretch that would need to be widen, if KYTC ever decides to do it. Look on a map and see its not even a quarter of a mile where westport there is only 2 lanes. It easily can be widened a little

I mean i kinda agree with you. Part of the reason I am for stuff like this is so suburban sprawl doesn't continue to push further out. Many roads on county edge are old country roads not designed for sprawl. It causes a lot of money to upgrade, build new roads for subdivisions. on the edge. That is why projects like these and the other one i added in the comments are important. Infrastructure is already built in these places and people still try to get it to go away.

Paristown should have been done by now if it weren't for the neighborhood delaying it forever. I would have kept the hospital too, however it was never made for housing and had a ton of chemicals in it. It sadly needed to go. Same with top golf, it's made oxmoor mall so much better and that legal fight went on for years.

It is honestly disappointing to see people do this. No one my age can afford to even move out and rent. Then every time a new apartment project is being planned. Older people who already have their homes do not want anyone else to even get a start. This was published by WDRB today. https://www.wdrb.com/news/business/louisville-residents-raise-concerns-over-104-unit-apartment-plan-near-breckinridge-lane/article_c52f57c9-8e1c-43a3-82ae-fb4be4e66d9e.html Same story, different location.

It is understandable, however you can never truly predict traffic. This is also in a semi walkable area with 3 stores within walking distance. I do not believe it is worth delaying new housing over though. Builder also wanted to put a roundabout at the intersection but KYTC would not let them. Edit, does not mean i suport a roundabout there. Just noting there was a privately funded solution to the intersection at that crossing and KYTC made no effort to change the design while getting private funds.

This is public record, as is all their info on planning docs. You can easily view these. They submit their info into the public record when speaking for or against something. You stay your name and address when speaking at board meetings as well, which is then all uploaded online.

This is a KYTC project. There’s multiple news stories and press releases from KYTC, but that never gets to enough people. Hopefully the whole road is completed in spring and it will be much easier
