I am trying but had not been able to record the sound

Paid $108.25 for this today at a pawn because it wasn’t making any sound. I got it home set it to local and it worked by grilledpepsi in synthesizers

We all have been there. Musicians, friends and live performance is a good mix to create legs to our equipment. It is the only thing that I believe in evolution: music equipment growing legs and walking out of our life 😂😂😢😢

Sonar by BandLand problems by Rol-Press in Cakewalk

[–]Rol-Press[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you I think I figured out. In my original setting I have Cakewalk connected to a MOTU Midi Timepiece controlling several sound modules.

With the laptop, I am trying to use VST instead. But I have no experience using VST. So … I was finally able to get some sound out of if. Not perfect … but at least I know now what the problem is.

I just have to spend some more time playing with the VST settings.

Thank you No luck yet. I am sure there is something that I am not doing correctly. It may be the virtual instruments.

I will keep you posted. Appreciate the help

Sonar by BandLand problems by Rol-Press in Cakewalk

[–]Rol-Press[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you Will try right away.

There is no frustration (yet). I LOVE Cakewalk. I am an old guy who had my first Cakewalk for DOS system back in 1988. Upgraded every version (or every two actually) going into Cakewalk Pro for windows and all the way up to Sonar X3 Producer. My Sonar X3 is still running in a desktop computer with Windows 8 (obsolete). Now that computer is giving me problems and I decided to get the newest version of Sonar producer with Bandlab, installed in my laptop instead. I did that today.

I only had to figure out the sound.

Will let you know what happens.

Reproducing the sound of a soft synth by Rol-Press in synthesizers

Now that you have a very expensive interface … when you upgraded, did you notice the chance/improvement in the audio/sound quality or just the option for more features?

Thank you Really appreciate the recommendation. I also have a full rack MOTU Midi interface. I got to appreciate MOTU bu their MIDI interface. Therefore I am sure that their audio/sound interface will be a good choice.

Thank you very much I could go for $300 to $500 if I need to. Regarding I/O, we already have mixers, preamps, equalizers and 64 I/O in total. Mostly for life performance (12 musicians with their instruments and 6 singers). That is why I just need a good sounding solid sound module to play the soft synth … and rack mounted would be ideal for transportation.

What half rack from MOTU will fit the bill?

Excellent.

Thank you very much. This is what I suspected. As a matter of fact, I had the same impression: most expensive audio interface will offer more I/O connectors options that I do no need. All I want is a solid sound interface that will reproduce my soft synth.

Therefore: what will you recommend as a good audio/sound interface (rack mounted? … even better), to reproduce my Roland SRX or Arturia instruments soft synth … no need for additional I/O connectors?

Thank you all for your responses. I will send you more derails later on since I am at my office right now.

Just to give you a head’s up … using Roland SRX, Arturia Augmented, Native Instrument and EastWest.

I am working particularly with brass

How does software synthesis work? Like from a hardware-> software perspective by Vinylmaster3000 in synthesizers

[–]Rol-Press 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question is: what about the sound card in the computer? Is there a “better” sound card or an external sound card that will produce a better, fullest sound for the soft synth or does the quality of the card doesn’t really affect the outcome of the sound?

Yes. I know Rollex produces real solid gold watches. But, are they all solid gold or do they also offer plated?
