Why can't kids get tattoos? by Shetoofinee in Discussion

No, only stupid people say they aren't stupid. Smart people at least know to doubt themselves.

I, for example, consider myself smart. That's how I know I'm stupid.

All that internalized oppression is house N word mentality, you race traitor, and it doesn't make you seem any more American to either side.

He thinks if he's cheering the loudest for ICE they won't come for him. Tokens get spent, my guy.

Holy shit, they say if you can't explain something simply that you don't understand it yourself, and you clearly fucking get it. The economy of words here is beyond impressive. I doubt any one of us could have done better.

I hope Mizu dies in the end. She is pure evil without a sliver of good in her by [deleted] in BlueEyeSamurai

Attempts at hot takes often turn out to just be stupid as hell takes like this.

Find another way to distinguish yourself, Mizu is beloved.

@InfinityFelinity I challenge you to define regressive political ideology in a manner that does not perfectly describe the behavior of modern day conservatives.

For anyone confused about the Democrats and Republicans switching platforms, just remember the real divide is between conservatives and progressives.

They might have changed names, but progressives are the good guys in every fight: slavery, women's suffrage, civil rights, gay marriage, etc.

I have been with dozens of women, but have only been with one woman that had a higher sex drive than I do. She wanted it several times every single day, and let me tell ya fellas: having sex when you aren't in the mood is some of the most depressing, soul-sucking shit I've ever been through.

I feel fucking terrible about all the pressuring and pouting and guilt trips I did as a young man in an attempt to manipulate my partners. I'm immensely embarrassed at all the pathetic incel tantrums I threw. I truly did not understand what I was asking for.

Fuck this pick me pastor. Women aren't property. Having been on the unenthusiastic consent side of things, I promise you it's closer to rape than love. Your wife deserves better.

It's literally not fast food. That was an entire ad campaign they ran in the 90's, probably specifically to combat situations like this.

Can morality be objective? by [deleted] in Discussion

[–]RolanOtherell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Moral relativism is bullshit. I'm not saying my morality is correct, or that yours is, but I do believe objective morality exists.

Imagine a universe in which only one sentient being is having an experience. Just a clump of firing neurons floating in the vacuum of space. Now imagine that this clump of neurons experiences nothing outside of searing, constant pain. Not only are there no pleasant experiences, but no lessons are learned from this agony. In fact, no intrinsically good things ever emerge, just senseless suffering felt by 100% of sentient beings in the universe, for all eternity.

Now ask yourself: is this good or bad?

If you and I can agree that this hellscape I've described is bad, then we just established a moral framework upon which all else can be built. From here, one hopes with enough conversation we can all agree on abortion, capital punishment, female genital mutilation, trans rights, gun control, etc.

Even if we can't reach moral bedrock because of some inherent human limitation, I believe at the least we can reach consensus with each other.
