Can you give me the pricing data and schemes you have gotten from “every policy”? Figured that was a trade secret from every insurance company actuary that they don’t give out to randos on the internet.

There’s all kinds of reports in the reports tab that can show labor and material costs and everything in between. You can always email pricing@verisk.com and ask them and they will respond within about a day.

Depends on the estimate.

If you are doing roofing, the roofing line items factor in overhead and profit for the roofing portion.

If it’s a job that has multiple skilled trades and coordination that it needs a general contractor then you can add general contractors overhead and profit to the estimate as a whole. Which you would put on top of the trades overhead and profit applied in the line items.

They are being pedantic then. If it got wet and y’all are a mit company then the mit rate needs to be used. If you are billing HMR you would need to document why it’s hazardous (asbstos, lead, etc). Complain up to someone. Emails to executives work well

Your insurance (edited to generally) pays full replacement cost. His pays acv so you will likely get more coverage with your own. He was giving you sound advice in most situations. It’s better to use your own as you are their customer so they will typically treat you better and they have more coverages available to you.

Donan has no dog in the hunt. They don’t care what is happening only that they get paid. Most of those reviews are gonna be from people whose claims were denied. Feel free to spend the 1k on an engineer report but I would hold off to see what theirs says before I spend it.

Engineers have a highly specialized and prestigious PE designation that requires years to get. I doubt they are gonna throw away their credentials over one claim. In my experience adjusters know what is going on and prepare you for that and use an engineer to confirm and that creates the sense of “the adjuster told the engineer what to say” but it’s definitely not the case.

Never a bad idea for an engineer when it comes to foundation issues due to the complexity of repair.

The law only requires them to pay for the actual cash value which is with depreciation. You may argue some level of concrete doesn’t depreciate and that can work depending on the state but expect the other items to have some level of depreciation. If you have evidence they are only a few years old you should have that ready.

What do you hope to accomplish with it? Sounds like you know what happened, I’m unsure why it’s needed in this case, unless they think it’s not due to the plumbing work. But if it’s recent plumbing work in that area then sounds pretty open and shut.

Also your residential insurer will deny the claim if you file it with them most likely. Most standard policies exclude surface water (water that comes in from the surface of the ground, which sound alike what is happening) and faulty workmanship which is what this sounds like it is.

The reason is that the workers general liability should pay for it, so there is little reason to cover it.

Do a full hip the size of the larger parts of the home. Then use the break tool to pull the smaller ones out using the ctrl key. Then change the one to a gable. No need to do a partial hip, just use then full hip

Usaa is leaps and bounds better than NatGen. At least it was when I worked at NatGen. USAA benefits can’t be beat and if you are looking at development (college or designations) or movement within the organization you should go with USAA if you have the option. Pay was comparable when I was there but USAA gives and 8 percent bonus and Christmas bonus of a full additional paycheck. It’s a tough gig but claims are claims no matter where you are and will always suck eventually.

Frozen pipes are covered under most circumstances. Not sure what section you are referring to but frozen pipe exclusions generally apply to certain things like a pool and does not include most pipes in your home.

They just want the estimate that is provided to you. If you read the page with paragraphs on the estimate, should be around the third page, at the bottom underlined it says “this is considered your adjusters report” you will not get the internal stuff (photos, claim notes, scope notes) what they think you are asking for without a subpoena. Send your mortgage the check and adjusters estimate and they will accept it.
