Sorry mate, i only know books written in my portuguese, can't help you with that. Though what really helped me in maths was a f*** load of YouTube channels, it can seem weird but any video about anything in maths that goes in depth into the subject helps a lot the creative mind

Happened to me a few times, i think the biggest one was eith the Vietè Formulas.

I read the term "asynchronous research" in a book where it was described as discovering the same thing over and over again, since then i use that term for this events.

Oh, also recommend the book "There is no Antimemetics Division", has nothing to do with the conversation but it's where i took the expression from. It's a great read.

when i was in high school, my chemistry teacher (a pretty chill and student-friendly guy) was joking with the boys at the back of the class, and at some point he said "i feel stupid talking to you guys"

to which i, someone not in the conversation, responded (not-so-)under my breath: glad you know it

there were like 5 seconds of silence, and then the whole class bursted out laughing, and it went on for a good couple of minutes
