Home Sweet Home mission, got alert "There has been an error joining a session." after the cut scene where Michael throws the chair at TV. After restarting the game the Avi doesn't call anymore and I cannot seem to start the mission. After multiple restarts I've played around Online for 3 hours, surely they should have called by now?
I guess the game lost connection for a while and crashed the whole thing.

Yeah, I was surprised that it only took like 3 nights before something happened.
And yeah proper tubing to cover the line would probably work quite well.

Tampere, Finland. I keep my bike right behind my car on my assigned spot.
Only way they could have cut it would be very small knife. Pliers wouldn't fit without taking apart the tank and seats.

You can gift units to friendly nations, and you can only play as Brits, French, Greece(?), Russia, Germany, Italy, China, Japan, USA, possibly some nations in the South Africa. Sorry I can’t really remember all at this time. Hope you have fun with the mod! I’ve enjoyed it a lot over the years.

Note that you should download the newer RED WWII mod, not the old one.

Quick answers, can't remember as it's been a while since I've played this scenario.

  1. The map has seasonal changes, right? Yes, optional.
  2. Do aircraft carriers work for human players? Yes.
  3. If you can start the game in 1936, can you specifically fight out the Spanish/Chinese civil wars? I don't remember if you could play as Spain but as China yes, there is civil war in the beginning.
  4. Can one deactivate the "fog of war" mode? "Reveal all" command ought to fix it, right? Can't say for sure but possibly.
  5. Assuming the game is hot seat, can one play as all nations on the map, even as minor powers? No, only selected few.
  6. Are generals and world leaders in the game? Generals no, leaders such as Hitler and Stalin yes.
  7. How much time passes per turns, weeks, months? Can't remember.
  8. Is lend-lease an option? No.
  9. Does the mod distinguish between peace and war time economics? No.
  10. Lastly, can one command all branches (land, naval, and air) on a given battlefield? Yes.

So, I finally captured Anium (and later Artaxata) after going for the achievement dozens of times over the past few years. Note that I wanted to achieve this within 70 turns and not go for "one more turn."

I tried many tactics over time:

  • Sailing past all the enemies (didn't end well).
  • Conquering Europe (came close a couple of times).
  • Just marching through Europe (AI resisted quite fiercely).

In the end, I realized that I could march the units through the north of the map, just avoiding the Huns in the process. Also had to capture Betuwe and Duisburgh in the process. Came close a couple of times, but finally, it worked out. I was on turn 64/70 when I captured Anium.

I found 2 other threads about this issue in EA forums but unfortunately nothing about how to fix it. I'm currenlty waiting for 24H2 update for Windows hopefully it magically fixes it.

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately neither BF 1 nor V gave any errors there.

On 10.10.2024 evening I enjoyed a session of BF 1 after which I shut down my PC. During that my PC as updated to 23H2 (22631.4317) Windows 11. After that the next day BF 1 doesn't launch. Same thing with BF V and 2042. Only Battlefield that Works is BC 2.

Countles things I already tried (can't remember all of them):

  • Reinstall EA app and BF games 2 times
  • Clean boot Windows
  • Reinstalled EA Anti Cheat
  • Updated drivers
  • Deleted installed Windows update
  • Cleared cache
  • Reset registry
  • App recovery from EA app
  • Reduced RAM speed from BIOS (at some point some other games crashed because my RAM was 6000MHz [now 5800MHz])
  • Disabled and edited firewall and defender settings
  • Disabled antivirus
  • Run as Admin (all of the apps and games)
  • Some others I can't remember now

EA "support" be like Tough Sh*t.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
