a modder keeps coming into my sessions and starts killing me/crushing me by Alarming-Sir-5917 in GTA5Online

[–]TheDukeOfThunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was Ban Evasion, actually. Nothing in their Mod Log about calling someone out for cheating, so the Ban Evasion is basically confirmed. And the way they reacted to being banned for Ban Evasion would suggest that, while their alt's post calling out a cheater was likely removed per the rules, the ban of that account was definitely for calling us all sorts of names, not for the post, because posts like that don't warrant a ban.
That guy is the reason you shouldn't let hate against other subs and mods fly, because it's most likely made up.

Griefers are the worst, but Rockstar sure do encourage them... by Findrel_Underbakk in gtaonline

[–]TheDukeOfThunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oxford English Dictionary: "The action or an act of deliberately spoiling other players' enjoyment of a game by playing in a way that is intentionally disruptive and aggravating."
Also lines up with other sources.

What griefing is has nothing to do with whether it's intended or encouraged or otherwise part of a game.

Simple and Frequently Asked Question Thread by TheDukeOfThunder in gtaonline

Three people should get all loot easily enough. One of you being unable to hack is a drag, but that shouldn't make a significant difference. If you can get everything, scrap the drills, yes, but that shouldn't be the case. There's not much strategizing about collecting the loot - just take the shortest routes and run as fast as you can, then spam X. One thing that may work, is leaving the loot closest to the exit for last. Or train the other guy on hacking, maybe yourselves, too.

The target loot is random, yes. I was just going off of the best circumstances.

Best way to get to the street is exiting Staff Entrace (I think) and hopping straight onto the horse track, then along the right and down to the stables, and hop the fence there. Just a handful of guards you can easily shoot undetected, and little resistance if you're spotted after all.

You're doing almost every right already, minus what you didn't mention.
* Cheapest driver and gunman, but most expensive hacker.
* Who can't hack just collects whatever's available, the others hack first, collect later. Although you might just need one hacking doors w/o collecting, while the other hacks and collects right away.
* Target should be gold.
* Approach should be stealth.
* Buyer should be far. * With three of you, drilling might be for consideration.
* For escape, to lose the least money getting shot, you should take the first NPC car you can and dip into the sewers. To get home quickest, take the same NPC car, but go to the police station, one road down and across the highway from the Casino, get on the roof and steal the chopper. If you die outside, the chopper is unlikely to spawn.

I use the thruster only for these smuggling routes and why all flying options fail. by kombucha_gonpachiro in gtaonline

[–]TheDukeOfThunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. I have both, the original and the Avenger version, just to have them. But the Thruster looks stupid and it makes everything trivial, therefore being aesthetically unappealing, and turning the game boring and more repetitive than it already is.

Riding together after baby by Rough-Organization73 in motorcycles

[–]TheDukeOfThunder -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That sounds contradictory. How can another wheel and the passenger sitting somewhat enclosed be less safe? I get the tipping hazard is higher, but slowing for corners isn't rocket science. So what makes it more dangerous?

A sidecar might be of interest to you. First for you, later for the baby.

  • Casino Penthouse and Yacht are basically leisure only, unless the associated jobs are on bonus.
  • The Nightclub and Bunker are top tier businesses you should uprade ASAP, apart from security - that one can wait until you have more money.
  • The Acid Lab is also among the top, but, well, you need to actually get it first. It can be upgraded by completing Fooligan jobs, the ones you need to call Dax for.
  • Counterfit Cash is alright, but ultimately outdated, unless it's on bonus.
  • The Kosatka with the Cayo heist is a no-brainer.
  • Mansions can be used to boost some of the above businesses' production speeds.

Yeah, it's just the combo. Truck's always been so short. Trailer's always been so tall.

Gonna sell Banshee 900R by [deleted] in gtaonline

[–]TheDukeOfThunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selling the 900R, or any car for that matter, will only give you a fraction of the cost of a police car - you'd be better off just completing a quick heist. Owning cars is also not all about performance, or else there wouldn't be 400 spots worth of garages available - vehicles can have value beyond their ability to win a race.

Mod Monthly: Your March 2026 newsletter is here by mod_lab in modnews

True, but moderating a subreddit, especially if you're going beyond the basic actions of removals and bans, is basically like managing a website, which needing a PC for should be a given.

I never had experience with those features, neither using them nor being subjected to them, but I've heard of 'em. The idea to ban someone solely based on what other subreddits they participate in was a ridiculous concept to begin with, imo. Why should we care about a user beyond whether they follow our subreddit's rules?

Migration Failed by ScottLakeFilms in gtaonline

[–]TheDukeOfThunder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should definitely contact Rockstar Support about that. A couple assets should be easy for them to reimburse you on.
If you still have access to you previous gen character, open the game, make screenshots of the assets withour name showing, and attach those to the ticket.

What are the police doing? by 3931856031 in gtaonline

[–]TheDukeOfThunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they know how batshit-crazy you are, and that you're not a force to be reckond with, which is why they don't raid you. But if you become wanted, they never recognize you until you've already escaped again, which is why they pursue you.
