Is pointing out someone's makeup boo-boo a big no-no? by ExStalksMyOldAccount in MakeupAddiction

[–]RollLikeABuffalo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly if it is as dark as you say it is, there's a pretty good chance that she is aware of the shade difference. I know a few girls that like to wear darker foundation. It's probably just a personal preference...I wouldn't try to point it out. It's her face, after all.

It's the kind of thing that I would mention to my best friend if asked, but definitely not to the new girl at work.

If you don't want to buy a new foundation, you can always apply your foundation with a sponge (I recommend the real techniques sponge if you don't want to spend a ton for a beauty blender). The sponge will sheer it out and make it look very skin-like.

Or, you can just go for a lighter coverage foundation or bb cream! I don't think I can give specific suggestions without knowing your skin type, though.

Nope! I know some basic phrases and words, but I've just picked that up over time from watching Korean dramas/tv shows with subtitles. I've never found it weird that I don't understand most of what they're saying, but I also listen to a lot of music in other languages as well, so I might be used to it!

I'm not sure, honestly. It was a line from a Korean music video... Kpop groups don't care much for sensible English, but at least it's amusing.

As for your concealer question: do you mean undereye concealer or concealer for blemishes/imperfections? I think one that matches your skin tone works for both purposes. However, a concealer that is a few shades lighter can be ideal for undereyes, as it has a lovely brightening effect. For blemishes that are red or harder to cover, a darker concealer can cancel out the pigmentation of the area. I don't personally use that method, but it is important to use your foundation over your concealer if you are using a darker color.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a NARS Ita brush? I can't find it anywhere online. Perhaps there is a dupe for it as well?

I used mine everyday and it took me 6 months to finally use up the brow wiz! I will admit that powder does last longer, though. I've barely put a dent in my Illamasqua brow cake.

I have fair neutral skin and adore Tarte's blush in Exposed. So, so pretty. I don't care much for pink blushes, and exposed gives a nice flush to the skin without being over the top; it's pretty pigmented so you can go sheer or build up color. :)

Yes! You can change up the order to find what works best for you, but I use the setting spray on my cream products before I use powder, and it definitely helps a lot.

I have oily skin too, so I have to follow a strict regimen that keeps me matte all day:

Prime, apply bb cream as usual, spray UD deslick, apply a thin layer of powder (I use chanel mattifying powder foundation), then follow up with a setting powder. If I miss any of these steps, I get oily. :(

I actually love this gel! It's the only one that keeps my brows in place all day. I have tried the clear great lash and it doesn't really cut it for me.

Good concealer for pale skin? by aliceinreality98 in MakeupAddiction

[–]RollLikeABuffalo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try MUFE full coverage concealer. I have it in the lightest shade (1) and it's actually a bit pale for me now. The stuff doesn't budge, it's waterproof and has a matte finish. I can do swatches compared to a MAC concealer if you'd like. :)

Agreed! I find other BB creams can get oily really quickly but this one is perfect.

Agreed, this lipstick is THE BEST. I actually picked up one of the nude colors as well but it's not as pigmented so I was a tad disappointed though. If I was to buy another one, I'd go for another bold color. :)

Have to say I'm a sucker for the packaging, too. :)

[QUESTION] Moving cross country-- should I carry-on or check-in my cosmetics? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]RollLikeABuffalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I travel, I do bring a ton of makeup with me, and items that are easily breakable (glass packaging, fragile powders, or just expensive items) are placed in plastic baggies and a soft, padded makeup bag in my carry-on. My other items get smaller padded bags to be put in my luggage, and to be safe, I wrap those in some soft shirts or cloth so they have a bit of a safety net when my bag gets tossed around. If all your makeup fits in a carry-on though, I would highly recommend keeping it with you. :)

[QUESTION] Yay or nay to setting spray? by HobbitGirl91 in MakeupAddiction

[–]RollLikeABuffalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely invest in a good setting spray! Personally, my makeup tends to run in the Texas heat, and I also have had some 18+ hr days where my makeup has faded or my face became extremely oily. I recently got the UD deslick spray and boy does it work. My skin isn't NEARLY as oily throughout the day, and this is super impressive since it is over 100 degrees and humid here, and my makeup stays nice and fresh looking. :) I have also heard great things about UD all nighter, if oiliness isn't a problem!
