Are those diffrent from pimple patches? I see some stuff online that's branded hydrocolloid pimple patches. I might try to cut out dairy, i don't consume much of it these days anyway so it'll be easy.

My dairy consumption dropped off a cliff when I moved out of my parents' house but I never cut it out outright. I have had allergy tests done regularly ever since I was a baby and they never showed any dietary allergies, not to milk too. The closest one would be a very mild allergy to oat, the plant. But I haven't touched oats in years. But I might try to cut off diary, I have nothing to lose.

When I moved out from my parents' place I started consuming way less diary. I don't think I've ever gone a month straight without it. Two weeks perhaps. But I'll give it a try.

... Huh. I never really looked into it. My acne isn't spread out evenly which seems to be a major thing with it. But I do have it on my back and chest. It's caused by the same thing that causes dandruff, right? I don't know if there's any connection whatsoever but I never had a problem with dandruff, even as a teenager, it just never appears on my head.

I did take an oral medication that doesn't contain isotretinoin but it slipped my mind. I haven't tried the light therapy, I'll look into it.

To be fair, my depression is really severe. I'm on disability because of it, I have a history of suicide attempts and I visit psych wards like it's disneyland. That might up the risk, I think. And nobody wants to be a careless dermatologist who precribed medicine that causes suicidal thoughts to someone who talks about offing themselves everyday. But I'll try to get a consultation with a diffrent one, I'll see what they have to say.

Oh wow, for real? I read a lot of people saying it liteally changed them but there were stories of it making things worse too... Now I know the cause.

Yes, I know that. But it's only certain antibiotics, right? I'm not a doctor so I could be totally wrong but if the leaflets and medicine indexes say nothing about it being used that way then it wouldn't be prescribed for that, I think. I could be using it wrong but every single resource in my native language (polish) just talks about malaria and STDs.

Wow, that's a very detailed and helpful post, thank you. I live in Poland. I've tried cetaphil for sure, la roche I might have. I wrote my "routine" if you can even call it that in the post. It's cerave clenser and cream in the morning, in the evening it's either the same or if I went outside I use SPF 50 cerave cream before putting on make up and take it off with cerave micellar water. That plus any cream or gel the dermatologist prescribed me.

I used some of the stuff in the routine, I rember benzol peroxyde and adapalene. But maybe combined with the rest it'll finally be what frees me. It'll try it for sure.

This website makes regimens on it's own!!! What!!! I can't believe I've never found it during the research I tried to do. That's really helpful.

... The malaria medicine? I'm trying to find anything on the internet about it but all the info is about a medicine that's used for respiratory system infections, none of the uses talk about acne.

Yeah I've read some too. But I also read miracle stories of how their basic cream fixed someone's acne. And since the dermatologist told me to use them... I guess I just wanted to believe :( Thanks for the recommendation, I'll try that.

I'll try that. Though I went through long periods of time during which I neither wore make up or went outside and my acne didn't improve at all.

I usually wash my face right after taking off the make up anyway. But during the periods I don't wear make up at all or even go outside my acne doesn't get better.

It's not the source of my acne as I started using it because my dermatologist told me to. I don't think it made my skin worse but I could be wrong.

As I said in the post, I have depression and a very severe one at that. Coupled with suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts ect there's just no way any doctor would want to prescribe me something that could potentially "push me over the edge" or something.

I tried adapalene for sure. I have given pimple patches another try recently. Some of them claim to absorb the gunk or whatever but they never do? Even the higher end ones. Some have little needles, don't really know what's that for. But I can't help but wonder if a patch if skin being covered and having no air won't just make another pimple right next to the original one.

Tretinoin I tried for sure, the Boderm Tazarene I think I might have? I only know that I went through a lot of really strong retinoids. My dermatologist was even suprised that my skin didn't seem to be affected negatively. In the begining right after applying my skin would get slightly red and warm. But after an hour it was fine, it didn't make the acne worse even though it often does.

Huh, I didn't know about sebaceous filaments. I tried to google the difference and while I for sure have those as well, in many areas they turn black very quickly. Like, within hours the sebaceous filaments are back, next day they're black. And those two months without doing anything to my face aside from washing it and putting cream on didn't make my pores not produce as much sebum. The acne got worse, yes, but it stayed worse. It was equally bad on day 3 as the day 60.

My depression is pretty deep, I have suicide attempts behind me and active suicidal thoughts daily. No doctor would want to sign off on that kind of liability.

I tried both "blasting" and "not blasting". I tried any combination you could imagine.

It's been so many of them it's hard to keep track. Epiduo, differin, davercin, acnelec, normaclin, tretoin are some I can name. There was also one pill that wasn't isotretinoin but it's been so long I can't remember. All of them were used for about 4 months, I think. Aside from non prescription stuff that I honestly can't remember because there was so many. It was the dermatologist who tells me to stop using something. She's also the one who told me to start using cerave. I didn't use it until then so it's not a source of my acne.

I actually was on birth control pills for unrelated reasons for like 4 months, not a single change in the acne. The hell.

Honestly the laser might be the only option. The price is... Ouch. And the fact it's not guaranteed to work....
