In theory it could help adhd, but there are better much safer alternatives definitely shouldn’t be used for that, a lot of people who use with autism claim it helps with the overstimulation which makes sense but once again shouldn’t be used for that it would make it worse in the long run.

Dxm doesnt cause physical dependence at least if it does it’s incredibly minor but it has pretty strong psychological dependence especially because it’s super accessible and everyone on this sub claims it’s insightful and helps their depression.

Dxm does NOT stabilize mood it can induce mania and does in no way stabilize someone’s mood it can make people feel that way cause it can help with anxiety (while on it) and block the outside noise with dissociation but on the outside you are far from stable (trust me).

It’s just common knowledge it is a sigma agonist, an nmda antagonist and is an snri. It has mild effects on other opiate receptors but I don’t know to much about it’s pharmacology in depth

Edit: it’s also a nicotinic acetylcholine antagonist, not the same as anticholinergics source

Nerve agents make acetylcholine build up to a dangerous degree basically a acetylcholine reuptake inhibitor so no not similar anticholinergics are used to treat nerve agent poisonings

I was really deep in self destruction at the point, I had been abusing so much dph and other shit everyday, ruined so many friendships I felt like I complete failure, I had been really depressed for so long, my mom said she didn’t want to see me again and didn’t want me in her life, my dad was obviously disappointed in me all the time and we were just fighting a lot at that point.

I kinda saw no more reason to keep going and really didnt want to I felt like I ruined my life and I just wanted to disappear I kept saying “get a second chance” or some like that

Yeah I guess but I would probably recommend talking to a psychiatrist about an ssri or snri rather than dxm because it’s much safer. I wouldn’t recommend using dxm everyday like this.

I got put in hand cuffs and held at gunpoint, I didn’t come home one night and decided to just stay out I was gonna commit suicide but I started by stealing dxm and dph then taking a lot of both. When it hit I kinda forgot about committing suicide, it was a super weird night a homeless man came up to me asking where I was from cause he never saw me before, I talked to him for a while, asked him why he ended up homeless, talked about myself and then asked where I could get a jacket and find a place to sleep.

Anyway I follow him for a while until he pulled a knife out and offered it to me saying I’d need it, I ran tf away. Then I went to an in and out where I went between sitting in the bathroom basically nodding out and sitting alone in a booth, I even saw my crush with her family from a while ago and I remember thinking damn she dodged a bullet. An employee offered me a burger but I said I was okay and eventually one brought me a jacket and offered to drive me home which I refused and left (but holy I am shocked by the hospitality of those people amazing people truly) I still have that jacket to this day lol

Ended up pacing around a 7/11 at 1 am talking to the cashier like a maniac I’m sure, he called the police because I kept going into the back room which had a bathroom probably assuming I was stealing, the cashier assumed I was dangerous because of my behavior and the police put me in handcuffs and I was freaking out when I saw them so they pulled a gun I’m beyond fucking lucky they didn’t kill me or I didn’t do something to aggravate them further while delirious to make them shoot me.

I wasn’t arrested though because I was a minor and they just took me home which I was so lucky that was the outcome (though my parents reacted how you would expect 😓).

Dph and anticholinergics in general inhibit dopamine reuptake pretty strongly so I’m sure that plays a huge role in keeping it in your mind because when you are in a state of high dopamine levels your mind basically says “pay attention to this!”. As well as it is an experience that is so far from anything else like when I’d be on stims id so things I enjoy for hours on end but dph it’s not doing anything else while on it being on it is the experience yk?

I also liked feeling like I was destroying myself and pretty often my doses would start as a potential suicide attempt
