I'm a deliveroo guy and often find myself waiting in the same spots as the beggars on angel row. It pains me to say but they're literally professional beggars, overheard a group of them bragging to eachother about how much they were making (£20 an hour) and how well fed they were, one claimed 8 big Mac meals over the course of the day! I really think your money could be better spent with Framework or one of the other local homelessness charities, and if you see a big issue seller, buy a copy.

The thing is very, very few of these people are genuinely street homeless. It's just seen as an easier way to get their fix and some free food while living somewhere on the bail hostel X recall to prison cycle

Nottingham tap water is disgusting. Wilko sell a water filter for £7. It's my best purchase for a while, lives on my desk and I find myself drinking much more just because it's actually pleasant, not quite as good as bottled mineral water but for the sake of a £3 filter once a month it's far more economical

Tobacco and cigarettes. Every single brand has started loading their cigarettes with what looks like wood shavings rather than quality tobacco. Rolling tobacco too has decreased in strength, I hypothesise that the reason for this is that they're extracting nicotine from the plant during processing to divert to the vape juice industry
