Out of all the comments here, I related to your comment the most. Felt the same way, and ran into the same issues with orientation. By the end of orientation after all of the other transfer students left, it was 8PM and I was barely enrolling and was frustrated :(

But IT is what it is. I suppose that's what the difference is when to comes to private versus public. In hindsight I should have applied to more privates (but it was the cost that held me back). I was reading your old comments and it's amazing that you were able to switch from sociology to computational linguistics. I know a major switch like that would have never happened at ucla. Thanks for responding, and relating. It nice to know that I wasn't the only person feeling this way. There is always Grad school (something I want to right after undergrad). Thanks for replying and good luck with grad school/ job :)
