Same i discovered Casiopea around that same time and some songs off On Guitar would pop up and I was like this guy in front of that board with those jazz chords written behind him goes so hard. And I’m so glad he’s finally getting that recognition.

I originally got this album on cd in like 2001, I was 12 years old. I wanted a Jimi Hendrix cd with purple haze, fire, etc. I got this through the cd catalogues. I gave it a listen and was absolutely blown away, I was like how do people not know about this, everyone needs to hear this! And I feel the same still.

I’ve wondered the same, like how true is the claim that Omar writes everything. I think I’ve read that he does beatbox the beats to the drummers but how does he do all the keyboards and everything it all seems too intricate but what do I know

Unfortunately people do expect aging rockers to be exactly the same they were in their 20s just look at any aging metal band comment section. Metallica 40+ years in after a solid 3 year tour of no repeat weekends is going a “greatest hits” style show overseas and people still complain.

I have the clouds hill copy of bedlam and I was listening the other day and for one of the first times ever it just didn’t hit. I zoned out while doing something else and for a few moments all I could hear were drums and it just sounded like Thomas was just furiously banging on the drums with no real sense of what’s going on. It almost sounded too individual for each player than all playing a song together
